Im Listing von GCABDQ5 wird durch das Project-GC Add-on der Challengechecker 79391 auch aufgeführt. Dieser gehört da aber nicht hin. Warum ist das so?
In der Liste mit den nicht erfüllten Challenges ist dieser zweite, falsche Checker auch aufgelistet.

I would like to create a series of challenges where the criterion would be the number of given attributes, such as a geohoroscope, could someone help me create a geochecker for this. GC77FQ4 can be taken as a sample challenge. Below I list the given GC cache conditions, the attribute number and its required numbers. As a user with the ability to Clone checker tags (but not having a full script creating permissions), I was able to clone a tag before. Not anymore (since yesterday's site upgrade).

Bug: Checker owner_id on adopted caches.

I have a checker, https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC55AHK/920, that checks for cache owners that are members of a list stored within the checker - charter members. However it looks like it does not correctly process caches that are adopted.

For example, CherokeeThree has found https://coord.info/GCA3FC which was owned by Peter but is now owned by wreckdiver. When the checker is run for CherokeeThree it shows he has not found any of wreckdiver's caches.

The checker is correctly set to use the owner_id (as opposed to using placed_by) and so should be picking up wreckdiver as the owner.

Could you take a look please?

Challenge Checker Map - Fulfilled ?

I noticed that the challenge checker map is not determining fulfilled or unfulfilled challenges for me. The icon displayed for all the caches is a blue ?. The only caches showing with a green check are ones that I have previously added a personal cache note.

My map challenge cache options are US / Florida with all D/T and no name filter entered. The Exclude has Disabled, Archived & Not Fulfilled checked. Show option is set to Show All.

This has worked in the past, though I'm not sure the last time I ran it. I have been premium for many years and looking in a US state (FL) that I am very active in.

Is there an issue? User error?

Is there a trick to searching for challenge checkers? My searches rarely turn up anything useful and frequently the list of results does not include the term or terms for which I was searching.

For example, if I search for "CITO", the first three results have CITO in the name, the rest do not. I know there are more checkers than that with CITo in the title. The checker "31 days of CITO challenge" is not one of the results, even though a checker by that name exists. I feel like either I am missing something or the search is wonky.

Challenge cache not validating

I posted a find on a challenge cache GC9VYAV - 'Straya' #14 - A Challenging Challenge (Australia) on 2nd January 2024.

It would be the challenge cache that qualifies me for the challenge but doesn't validate and doesn't appear in the list of challenge caches.

I know there was a problem with challenge caches so I've waited a few days before posting this.

This challenge cache is part of a series and others that I've qualified for and logged appear in the list.

Cache Chain Checker

I have been having fun with cache chains - Caches that are linked within a specific distance from each other - and would like to add some challenges.

A number of checkers exist for this type of challenge.

For 5KM chains there are two checkers

The difference between them is that the first one shows a point to point polygon all along the chain.
The second checker shows a polygon to the extreme edges of the chain.

I am looking to create a 20KM challenge and have found:

This checker shows the extreme edges (version 2 above)

I would love to use the point to point polygons (version 1) at the 20KM distance.

When looking at the Tag Config to see the difference - the 5km point to point has an extra tag.

""polygon": "concave","

That tag does not exist on either of the "edge only" checkers.

I have no idea how to create a new checker - but seems like the 20 km checker is already built and that adding the concave tag to it would get me exactly what I need.

Can someone create a new checker variation using https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC7Y379/37436 as the base and then add the concave tag to it to make a new checker?

Ich habe bei Project-GC unter Statistiken niedrigste Höhe meine Caches mal verglichen und festgestellt, dass ich mehr als 9 Chaches gefunden habe, die die Challenge erfüllen. Wie ist es möglich, dass Stary parowóz / Old Locomotive - TB Hotel GC4FZ7V nicht in der Liste der Bedingung auftaucht? Liegt das am Checker?

This challenge is looking for Tradis and Multis that are below sea level. So at least -1 meter. I compared my caches at Project-GC under Statistics Lowest Height and found that I found more than 9 caches that fulfill the challenge. How is it possible that Stary parowóz / Old Locomotive - TB Hotel GC4FZ7V does not appear in the list of conditions? Is it the checker?

Glitch in numerous challenge checkers due to replacement of US Connecticut's 8 historic counties with 9 new "COGs"

Hi, PCG has recently worked on (and perhaps completed?) the shift from 8 historic counties in Connecticut to 9 "councils of government" - see thread. Here is a helpful map that shows the boundaries of both the old counties and new COGs. Both the Map County tool and some challenge checkers have caught up with the change, prominently including the Connecticut County Challenge Cache (which, amusingly, a couple of years ago I qualified for and claimed with 8 counties, but now would not qualify because none of my CT finds happen to fall into the new 9th COG).

That CT county challenge checker correctly shows that I have a find in the "Capitol Region COG" (which encompasses all of the old "Hartford County," including the City of Hartford, the capitol of CT). It lists my find of GC1D8DR, which is in the old Hartford County as well as the new Capitol Region COG. I also have a number of other finds in that county/COG, such as GC8W248.

But, many (perhaps all?) of the US "State Capitol Challenge" checkers, using different scripts and tagging, have not caught up. For example, GC7W7ZZ checker, GC9MBK7 checker, and GC7KRYF checker all omit my find in Hartford County/Capitol Region COG. I have looked at a few other county-based challenges, and for example "finds in 100 counties" type of challenges seem to include the new COGs.

My guess is that those checkers are hard coded/tagged to look for a find in "Hartford County," but that county no longer exists in the Project-GC system. I could flag this glitch to each of those checkers, but there are at least 20 state capital/capitol-based challenges in the US (just based on looking at the titles of the challenges). So I am hoping there is a more systematic way to fix this problem.

Map of Challenge Checkers hanging in some cases when requesting all of United States

Hi, I travel lots and have for a number of years kept track of essentially all challenges in the U.S. Every 6 months or so would use the Map of Challenge Checkers to download GPX files of 1) caches without checkers, 2) caches with checkers where we fulfill the requirements, 3) caches with checkers where we do NOT fulfill the requirements, and 4) caches with checkers where the map is not sure one way or another (exclude is checked for both fulfilled and not fulfilled). Today, I have been able to run 1) and 4), but whenever I try to run 2) or 3), the server just hangs with a blank screen. I have attempted this on Windows, MacOS, and Android devices, with various browsers. Once I received a 500 error from the server, but every other time, the screen just hangs.

Does this reflect a issue with the server, and if so, where is the best way to report what could be a real time server issue? Or, possibly, does this reflect a new capacity limitation on the number of challenges that can be mapped? In the past, I have done exactly what I am trying today, and there is no error message, so it seems more likely to be some server issue? Any info would be appreciated

A few months ago, I set up a new challenge cache for having found 100 virtuals. My GC # is GCAAVP7. I found a similar challenge, and used the clone button, and set it up. After a little bit, i started hearing that the checker is disabled. I can't clone a working checker for my cache because the system says another checker is already associated with the cache. How can I fix/handle?

Hello,

I have two challenge checkers [GCAA9Y2; GC9A7Z5] which are not working using a PGC authenticated GC Basic Member account. I would like to query the result of the challenge of the Basic Member. However, if I use a GC Premium Account for authentication at PGC, the checker query for the Basic Member result query works. So I think it isnt a specific issue of the checker, although a general problem. Perhaps the problem arises once it goes around the earth and there is a coordinate reversal at 180° longitude. But this is only a guess without knowing the technical circumstances.

Could you please take a look at this and coorigine if necessary. Thank you very much.

Challenge checker with Adventure Labs

According to the rules for creating challenge caches, it is not possible to create challenges related to waymarks, benchmarks, trackables and Adventure Lab (e.g. 366 days Adventure Lab challenge) (https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2016/05/return-of-challenge-caches/).
Is it then correct to count Adventure Lab finds towards the results of other challenge checkers?

Which actually counts the number of Adventure Lab finds towards the total number of finds and thus automatically adds additional loops.

Improvements to the script tag list

I posted this request (with far less context) in the Miscellaneous section of the Challenge Checkers Forum a while ago, but got no response. I will try again here.

Feature Request

The current page that displays a checker's tags is... unwieldy. It is simply one giant list of tags that all load in at once. For scripts with many (> 1000) tags, this can make a number of checker-related operations slow. I would like to propose the following changes:

(1) Paging of tags. It would be nice if the tags were split across multiple "pages" (say, 100 tags per page.) This way, not all tags are loaded in at once. This reduces the strain on both the tagger's computer as well as the PGC servers.

Example - note that the paging buttons:

(2) Searching of tags. It would be lovely to see a search mechanism for tags on a particular script. Use-cases:

- A user wants a tag edited, so they email me. The only way for me to locate the tag is via Control-F. This is... annoying; it would be nice to see some kind of built-in search.

- A user asks for a "test checker" or a "statistic generator checker" to be edited, so they email me. Now, there is no "good" way to locate this particular tag without (1) opening the checker page, (2) reading the tag comment, (3) Control-F for the tag comment.

Example - note the search filter "tagger:" which I would use to filter down to only my tags:

(3) Editing of tags from the "My scripts and tags" page. This is similar to (2). When I am on the "My scripts and tags" page, I see a big list of tags. Each one has an "Edit tag" button. However, when I click this, it opens the script page at puts me at the top of the big list of tags.

So if I want to edit a particular checker, I must first locate it in the "My scripts and tags" page, and then click the "Edit tag" button, and then locate it a second time amongst all the other tags on that script. What would be nice to see is "Edit tag" taking me directly to the edit menu, like this:

Clicking "Edit" beside tag opens the editor immediately...

Issue with HTML generation of checkers without a GC code set

This is a fairly niche bug that most users will likely never encounter.

When a checker is created without a GC code set, it defaults to a displayed GC code of "?". However, this causes problems for the HTML link generation, since the format for a Challenge Checker link is project-gc.com/Challenges/{gc_code}/{tag_id}: the {gc_code} becomes "?", meaning that the URL becomes project-gc.com/Challenges/?/12345 and thus the tag ID gets interpreted as if it were a GET/query parameter. This is undesirable.

Demo/Steps for Reproduction

(1) Create a checker with no associated GC#. Locate it on the "My scripts and tags" page, or on the associated script's tags.

(2) Click the "Link" button to generate HTML.

(3) Notice that the generated HTML, as well as the Example link on the left, contain a "?" in the URL. This causes the URL to be interpreted as if it contained GET/query parameters.

Reason to Fix

Currently, in order to get from the "My scripts and tags" page to a particular checker's webpage, one needs to:

(1) Click the "Edit" button to open the script associated with the tag.

(2) Scroll and/or Control-F to locate the tag.

(3) Click the "Use checker" button to open the checker's page.

This is far too many clicks/scrolling for me. So, instead, when I need to open a checker page, I simply use the "Link" button to generate HTML, and then click one of the links that generates on the left.

Normally, the checker has a GC code set, so this takes me right to the checker page. But (as above) if the checker has no GC code, then it becomes "?" and messes up the URL. So then I need to go manually fix it to get to the checker page.

This was starting to get somewhat annoying, so I am now formally filing this report...

There is a challenge cache in Texas, GC1G0CX, I've Been Everywhere Challenge - Texas. It is an older challenge and does not have a checker. There are a lot of Texas cities (90) that have to be in the checker. Is this possible to create one if there is not one already?

I would like to be able to generate a map (or list) of only the challenge caches I have satisfied the requirements for, but haven't yet written a note in the log. This would require excluding not only the challenge caches I haven't satisfied, but also those that have checkers that haven't been run against my account (those with a blue bubble in the lower left). Seeing that on a map (or even better, as a list) would be great!

I would like to know if I have satisfied the challenge caches in my state without having to run the checker against each of them one at a time. Then I can just look for those I have satisfied to make it easier to claim them. Is it possible to blindly run the checker for all the challenge caches in one pass? I can generate the map, but it only shows status for those caches I have manually run the challenge checker against.

Hallo,

ich habe schon 81-Matrixen nach Cachetypen gefunden und gesehen.
Aber gibt es solche Übersichten, nach Cachetypen, auch für die 365-Matrix?

Muss jetzt keiner das "Rad" neu erfinden und die Webseite dafür um zu programmieren. Entsprechende Checker würden mir ja auch genügen.

Challenge checker is not correct

Someone created a challenge checker for my old challenge geocache GC4V52C .

Unfortunately the condition is not 100% accurate.

Here is the link to the checker: 29261

The problem is the cache type "Locationless Cache". This one is and was never mentioned as a valid cache type in the geocache listing description, since barely anybody finds a locationless on the listing coordinates.. Please exclude it from the checker as well..
