Challenge GC5K5VD absent from the Challenge Tab

Hello,

I saw that this challenge : https://coord.info/GC5K5VD is absent from the Challenge Tab in my stats, as if it was not considered a challenge, even though it clearly is one. I checked, and it also does not appear on the Challenge Map of Paris. Can it be added to the challenge list or is there a special reason for it not being there?

Add countries to 'Challenges' tab on profile stats

Could you add a section which shows the first challenge found in each country visited on the 'Challenges' tab of the profile stats, similar to the one on the 'Events' tab? I always try to find a challenge cache in countries I visit (not always possible!) and would value having this info on my profile stats.

I have no idea if this is the right forum to post this so please feel free to move it to most appropriate one if necessary. I'm not sure if I would consider this a Feature Request but more like a suggestion or an ask for a minor change.

Currently The Achiever badge under PGC's BadgeGen counts the number of challenges you've logged. As per the current GC.com challenge rules, you must qualify for any challenges you publish but you can't log any of your own (challenge) caches so wouldn't it be nice if you got "credit" for all the challenges you've published "under" The Achiever badge as well?

Would that be possible or worth considering? It would be a nice to have, IMO. :-)

Signed challenges for another profile

Since the signed challenges are moved to a new page https://project-gc.com/Profile/SignedChallenges, I am not able to view the signed challenges of another user. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Update: On the challenges tab of the profile stats of other users, there is actually a link to to 'signed challenges' page. However, that links to my personal signed challenges page.

This is either a bug or a feature request - This link is not pointing to the correct user _or_ the I'd like to have the signed challenges page to be available for other profiles.

Background: When I plan a caching tour with friends, I'd like to see which challenges they have signed so I can plan caches on the tour to fulfill some of their challenes.

Is there a trick to searching for challenge checkers? My searches rarely turn up anything useful and frequently the list of results does not include the term or terms for which I was searching.

For example, if I search for "CITO", the first three results have CITO in the name, the rest do not. I know there are more checkers than that with CITo in the title. The checker "31 days of CITO challenge" is not one of the results, even though a checker by that name exists. I feel like either I am missing something or the search is wonky.

Are there any alternatives to searching for challenge checkers besides the search bar on the challenge checker page? I am putting together a series of challenges and was hoping to not have to create a bunch of unique checkers. I was wondering if there is a catalog somewhere that lists all the checkers?

Challenges signed (but not yet logged as found) never seems to update

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or not; tagging in case it is.

I find the Challenges signed (but not yet logged as found) to be a great way to keep track of challenge caches I am working on.

However, it seems that it does not run the checkers for any of the challenges. The red "unqualified" mark only changes to the green "qualified" mark if I manually run the checker itself. There have been several times where I have lost track of a challenge that I qualify for, and this page never seems to update to a green check to let me know.

I previously left a challenge I knew I'd qualified for sit for several days to see if the page would update itself, but it never did until after I'd run the checker. Even then I think I had to wait a day or two.

Today's example:

I've been working on qualifying for GC9KJ1T for a while. This morning, I logged the last D/T combination I need to qualify, GC11NCM. I waited until this afternoon, to ensure that Project-GC "knew" that I had logged GC11NCM. It did - I can see it as the latest in my milestones.

When I go to the challenges tab, however, it still shows that I'm not qualified for GC9KJ1T.

Then I run the challenge checker, and, yes, I'm qualified.

Going back to the Challenges signed (but not yet logged as found), I refresh the page, and...it's still not showing I qualify.

When, if ever, does the system run the checkers on these challenges I have signed to see whether I qualify? Or must I always do it manually? Is this by design, or is this a bug?

Edit: 12 hours after posting this, and after refreshing the challenges tab twice again, I now see a green check. So, the process seems far from automatic.

Is there an unwritten rule regarding how many challenge caches you can have, that have the same theme but an increasing level of difficulty (thus catering for those with many finds and those with much fewer)

i.e. if I wanted to put out 5 challenge caches around say ''types' and they were as follows

1. Finds caches where at least 10 have to be multis, 10 have to be unknowns and 20 have to be trads

2. Finds caches where at least 20 have to be multis, 20 have to be unknowns and 40 have to be trads

3. Finds caches where at least 30 have to be multis, 30 have to be unknowns and 60 have to be trads

4. Finds caches where at least 40 have to be multis, 40 have to be unknowns and 80 have to be trads

5. Finds caches where at least 50 have to be multis, 50 have to be unknowns and 100 have to be trads

essentially if you qualify for the last one you qualify for them all

Am I allowed to have 5 challenges in a progression like this (or more if I wanted to go higher), where the theme is the same or is there a limit of the number of challenge caches I can have in these circumstances

Has anyone come across being advised that they can not do this or do you have such a series of challenges (theme is irrelevant except that it is the same in your series)

When I follow the link https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCXXXXXXXXXX/342?profile_name=XXXXXXXXX&submit=Filter, I have to authenticate. When I did and follow the link again, I have to authenticate again and so on. I am stuck in a loop. Furthermore, I can't access the challenge checkers via Tools -> Challenges. Everything worked fine a few weeks ago. What happened?

Since p-gc's challenge checker technology is the authoritative source for geocaching.com hosted Challenge-Caches, it would be of great help if p-gc provided a REST API through which a checker could be programmatically executed and the results returned back for instance like this:

Can you get user data on the # of Challenge caches found in each country?

I would like to have data on the number of Challenge caches I have found in each country. Although I can derive this from the 'Challenges logged' section of my Challenges Profile Stats, it would be good to get it auto-generated. Maybe it is possible using one of the tools?

(haha my initial question was 'Is there a 'Feature Request' forum on Project GC?', but I did not see the category drop down!)

Feature request: can there be an option on the challenge map to exclude the challenges you already found?

On the challenge map, you can filter by different options, like not available, archived, premium, requirements met / not met. But it would be nice to have an extra filter, to exclude the challenges you already have found and/or the ones you have visited (by write note log). It will make the map more readable.

I appreciate the Tool that shows a map of the Challenges in my area.

Could you easily add the list of challenges above or below the map so that I can do a text search on the list? The reason for this is I want to make sure there isn't a similar challenge in my area and hovering over / clicking on all the challenges on the map is time consuming.

Re: GC80T86 - Cuyahoga County 365 Date Challenge

The output from this challenge checker results in a 366 calendar grid composed of days found in green and days not found in red. As a person with red-green color blindness, I cannot differentiate between the 2 colors.

Is there a way to have these colors edited? Either as defaults or by the Cache CO or by the end user? I believe a color combination of either black and red or blue and red would work for most color blind folks. Use of BOLD or italics may also be useful. A host of information concerning IT accessibility is available under www.section508.gov.

We probably all know in this site that all our data are available to anybody.

To project-GC? With the GDPR being published since months, warnings being sent, and now GDPR having law force. what are the measure effective in this site? What were/are your difficulties to fulfill this standard?

To anybody? What are counter productive effects do you incur/identify being either the owner of site, the user of geocaching.com data, the members of project-gc, the owner of a challenge, ..?

One exemple: Some user in geocaching.com asked to be totally deleted from their site: The profile is now unavailable and his found or favorite points disappear. This affects statistics, challenges or even the reading of some log sequences as some comments disappeared. Do you know other things that may be affected?

Challenge exceptions: Allow to hide achieved caches from list

Currently the Challenge exceptions are listing archived caches to be voted on.

Since it does not improve the current geocaching game play to check on archived challenges I would like these to be removed from the list of caches to be voted on!

Apparent errors in Challenge Mapping

OK, as a paid member I have access to a tool that is supposed to show me Challenges in a given area. As near as I can tell, this map will show challenges that have checkers as green, and those hat do not as yellow. Further, those for which I'm qualified will have a blue do, and those for which I am not will have the red circle with the line through it. See image below.

The labelled cache does indeed have a checker, and appears to indicate I qualify for it. But, since I only have finds in 27 states, that is clearly incorrect. I have noticed a number of other instances in which the map indicates I am qualified for challenges when in fact I am not. What gives?

How to prove that enough cachers are fulfilling my new challenge cache?

My reviewer asked me to prove that my new challenge cache needs to be attainable by a reasonable number of cachers (around 20 in the area). This is refering to the guidline saying

“A challenge cache needs to appeal to and be attainable by a reasonable number of cachers. Your reviewer may ask for a list of cachers from your area who qualify.”

How can I check and prove this?

The challenge is: „Find at least one cache in each of the 28 EU member states“

I am aware of several posts regarding the benefit of the second list of caches under the 'challenges' tab - and the various discussions around how it is comprised etc.

There is a comment at the bottom of the second column of caches saying "All noted challenges which aren't logged or owned are listed. For exclusion they can be tagged in the logs with [NOT-SIGNED].

This does not appear to work - I have a very long list there which comprises of various challenges caches that I have either signed (not qualified) or qualified (not signed) but logs added. I felt I did not need all of the caches in that list so have tried to comply with the above by adding [NOT-SIGNED] to the logs in the hope that they would disappear from the list - they haven't (I did this several weeks ago)

Challenge save succeeds but fails

After editing a challenge checker script and saving, the save process times out and we get a "Save failed" message. However the save did actually occur. Could the save message please be fixed - it confused me for a bit before I learned to ignore it.

Calendar export (ical) for days where geocaches must be searched for challenges?

Ontario Counties of Haldimand and Norfolk should probably be separated

So I've been working on a couple challenges in my home province of Ontario (Canada) and have noticed that Project-GC uses the county of "Haldimand-Norfolk" but several challenges count them as separate counties. (for example Southern Ontario - Yours to Discover Challenge )

I did some searching around and found that Haldimand and Norfolk were separate counties from the late 1700s until 1974 when they were merged together. This lasted only until 2001 when the two counties were separated again.

Since the counties have been separate since almost as long as geocaching has existed, is it possible to make that change on project GC? I think it would be helpful for Geocachers in Ontario if it's possible.

Is there any chance the heading for the lower list currently headed
"Challenges signed (but not yet logged as found)"
be changed to
"Challenges with a note added"

as the majority of my list are NOT signed caches (I have 174 in the list - and probably only 10 of those are signed but yet to qualify)
I am sure I am not alone with this as I know many cachers have checked various challenges around their own country and added notes with their qualifying lists and these appear on this list - thus the opposite of the current heading.

My list in fact consists of 3 categories
1. Signed but not qualified
2. Qualified but not found (note added with qualifying list)
3. My own caches - various notes added over time

Thus the current search is not disseminating to just 1. which is the heading category.

I just joined PGC so I can track challenge caches that I haven't found. I see them on the map and they show if I qualify or not. Is it possible to get a list (instead of on a map) of challenge caches in my area and if I found it, if it has a checker and if the checker shows that I qualify or not?

I have read through the various Questions with regard to this topic - and understand what the list is and how it can be amended.

My question is slightly different

It is evident that the list is generated from scanning all the 'challenge caches' that have had notes put on by the cacher. I also understand how to amend this list by adding [NOT SIGNED] in the log if you dont want it to appear in the list.

However - How did the decision to create this list come about ? - looking at my list I have come to realise that the majority of caches listed on that section of the tab are ones that I have added a note with my qualifiers. These I have not found and signed - in fact very few will be ones that I have found prior to qualification
What this means is that I am having to go through my considerable list - one by one and search for my note/log (and unless a personal comment has been added saying when the note was made, this is scroll and search exercise) and then add NOT SIGNED to the log. I recall adding logs to over 400 such caches and so don't look forward to that task.
Having a list of caches that you have found but not yet qualified for is a very good idea - but I think formulating this list should be created a different way than selecting all those with 'notes'

For me - adding something (like [SIGNED] ) to THOSE caches will be a far less arduous task than the one I am facing above

I wonder how many others are in a similar position

I see there's a new challenges tab on my stats page - an excellent idea. Thanks for implementing this. It'll give me the impetus to try to do some more.

One minor criticism (if it's related) - the tabs seem to be floating a few pixels above the stats at present, at least in Firefox 56.0.2. I hope this can be fixed as it looks a bit odd.
