Is it still possible to exclude the caches I've not found in the new filter system ?

Hello,

While I was testing the new filter system in the Staging environment, I realized that it was no longer possible to filter “not found” caches.
For example, on the Statistics > Top Elevation page, I liked being able to have a complete list of the highest caches I've found with the “Hide Found / Owned / Not Found” filter. The most similar filter now is “Exclude my finds/hides”, but it looks like it's not possible to exclude the caches I've not found anymore.
Does the "Hide Not Found" filter exist elsewhere? Has it become "premium only"? Or has it been removed?

Hidden date tool for caches of a specific size or type

Hi all,

in the "Profile Stats" of a cacher we have the "Finds by hidden date" calendar. One can select to show only finds of a certain size or type.

The link below to the "Hidden date tool" shows only missing finds of any size and type. In my case I have covered all dates. But I would like to see the caches that I am missing for example of the size "Micro" only. Is this possible? The "Cache type / size" filter seems not to do the trick.

Add type filter to Hidden Month on profile stats

I have found the addition of type/size filters on the various tables on my profile stats to be super useful, but was wondering if it was possible (and/or desirable to more than just myself) that the hidden month table have the same option? Personally, size would be interesting but not super important, type I would find incredible useful though.

edit: Additionally, it would be incredibly useful if there was a way for the cache type filter on the map hidden month tool to then only use that type when calculating what month(s) are missing

The 'Number of Hidden months logged' statistic (here https://project-gc.com/Statistics/TopHiddenMonth) returns a figure for the overall number of months found.

I have taken an interest in Jasmer by Type, and there are some great tools in Project GC to support this. But I would like to be able to filter by type in the above statistic. I am one cache off a Traditional Jasmer, and would be able to apply a filter to see who else has achieved this.

The 'Add Filter' option only allows 'Profile name' and 'Only people from'. Could 'Type' be added?

in der Statistik kann man ja die 81-Matrix nach Typ/Größe filtern. Das System lässt es jedoch nicht zu das ich Typ und Größe kombinieren kann. Es kann nur nach Typ oder nach Größe gefiltert werden.

War das nicht mal anders? Ist das so gewollt?

condensed filter option for cache types

In the filter list for cache locations, there are at first the continents and then the individial countries.

I like to have this kind of filter for cache type lists, that there is an filter option for example "physical cache types", "events cache types", "virtual cache types".

With this condensed filter, you don't have to click on for example traditional, multi, wherigo, letterbox, unknown when you want to filter for all physical cache types.

map counties

I would like to see the amount of Traditionals in each county.

In Tools, Map Counties there is an option 'Add filter'. If I add the filter 'Cache type / size' and choose 'Traitional', the result does not change: When I click on an individual county, I see the amount of all founds in that county. I would like to see the amount of traditionals. What do i do wrong?

Filter multiple criteria with a logical disjunction (OR)

For filling my 366 grids, i often need specific type/size combinations and i want to look for areas, where the needed caches are close together.

Currently, i open several instances of the map with each map having it‘s own Filter criteria.

So it is possible having on one map multiple Filters with an OR condition?

For example: Show me one map with (Small AND Traditional) OR (Micro AND Unknown) OR (…)

Feature request - filter by altitude

Could we please have a filter, especially for Map Compare, to filter by altitude. I appreciate that it will not be precise due to the way altitudes are calculated, but as most requirements are for challenge caches which use the same altitudes, this will not matter.

Perhaps something like two text entry boxes for low limit and high limit, using the units as set in the user's settings. Blank = default, no low filter and no high filter, which matches the same results as not having the filter enabled.

As challenges can verify altitude, the data must be available!

The filter option for MapRegions and MapCounties is not working for some filters.

I use the filter option on maps of provinces and municipalities. When I choose a type (e.g. event cache) the map shows all the provinces or municipalities where I have found a cache, in stead of only showing the locations where I attended an event.

The filter option is not working for cache type, cache size and DT-rating.

The filter is working for the options log data (from - till) and loop.

Faulty checker filter?

I have written a checker and a tag for it. The tag specifies to limit finds to one country using the standard API filter - New Zealand in this case, but some results are coming in from another country. Could someone please point out where I have gone wrong?

See https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC4R9Z6/62293 for the checker, and run it with user Infoferret. Most finds are New Zealand, but on February and April 2002 you will see caches from London sneaking in.

The checker implements a partial Jasmer - for those countries where a full jasmer is not possible.

Any help is appreciated.

The cache types filter used in many statistics is a static list and at least one cache type is missing. Please make this a dynamic query so that future new cache types are added automatically.

It would be great to have additional filters on the "What's hot?" tool page. Most useful would be the "Hide Found / Owned / Not found" filter, but the standard set from the "Top Favourite Caches" would be best.

Feature request:
Filters for the tools Map Regions and Map Counties that allow the user to filter for found counties/regions with different sizes and cache types. The current filter named "Cache type / size" only affects what caches are shown on the map, the request would be for a filter that affects what region/counties are colored red or green in the tool.

This would be similar to the "D/T type / size" filter for the Map D/T Matrix-tool that helps you fill the D/T-matrix with a certain size or a certain cache type but it would help you collect counties/regions with a certain cache type or size. Trying to log Multis in as many different counties as possible in a country for example.

There are a couple of "not-a-checker"-checkers to keep track of this and I know multiple people that keep private offline statistics for these kinds of things so I'm surprised I couldn't find a feature request to bump, might have been bad searching on my part. :)

Feature request: Add Min and Max distance to the 'Center & Radius' filter.

The ability to filter for caches that are at least xx distance away but closer than yy distance away from a center point would be a very useful addition to the already amazing "center and radius" filter.

1. This would help us be able to find caches that meet a "Well traveled cacher" type challenge cache where X number of caches must be found in each 5 mile band from your home point. i.e. 1 cache each 5 mi band to 250 mi: ex: 0-5 mi; 5-10 mi; 10-15 mi... 245-250 mi.

2. This would help when planning a trip. Often when planning a road trip with friends (maybe to some Mega event) we will make a list of caches to get along the way in a virtual gps shared list here in Project gc, but we want to ignore all caches close to home as we could easily get them on a non "road trip" day.

In both cases adding the filter should help avoid hitting the "10,000 cache limit" on the "Map Compare" tool typically used to plan a trip by removing caches that you want to ignore anyway that are close to home providing a much better experience.

live map filter reset required

Hi,

Every time I enter Live Map, a certain set of filters are applied by default (specific cache types and favorite scores). This particular set of filters was for a specific trip, but for some reason, they have become my permanent defaults and I need to reset these very time. Is this is known issue, and if so is there a way to reset this behavior ?

"Save Filters between sessions" is NOT selected.

Date range filters in tools

Why not update the To date to be the same as the From date when the selected To date is before the From date?

Currently, we can filter the geocaching map based on hidden date, month, favorite points, etc. I would love the ability to filter the map based on most-watched geocaches in the same way. Caches with a high watch-count tend to be difficult / challenging in some way, or otherwise very interesting, and I think it would be just as useful to see this kind of filter along with the favorite point filter to seek out interesting and challenging geocaches.

Thoughts?

Map NESW/Oldest Hide option labels ("disabled", "archived") should be opposite from current

Currently, in Map NESW/Oldest there are couple of filters (Hide options) labelled ("disabled", "archived").

However what they currently do is they exclude disabled/archived from search results (which is of course totally fine) but IMHO, the options should thus be named opposite from current naming.

For example, ("not disabled", "not archived") would make more sense to myself.

I am trying to complete the alphanumeric cache owner challenge and am missing caches hidden by COs starting with 6 and 9. I am trying to search for any possible caches that fit that category but cannot figure out how to filter by CO name. Can anyone offer help?

Nice to have this tool, but report a lot of results, would be nice to have the possibility to filter somehow to narrow the results to what matter when you loose the complete matrix or to see why something change in stat.

In fact the same demand you already have and probably work on on it : to have a homogeneous system of filter(s) on each and any statistics you propose. Thanks in advance

Search with D/T-Matrix tool to fill specific (single) "cache type matrix"

The basic configuration of the D/T-Matrix provide only to fill the "total" D/T matrix and show list of potential caches. An extension is to filter the output by cache type or even by size.

Like to have as input the matrix filtered by cache type and get as output list of potential caches of the filtered cache type.

e.g. goal is to complete (next round) of the D/T matrix for Tradi, as like can be filtered within the Profile.
make D/T-Matrix tool only to provide Tradi to complete the D/T-Tradi-Matrix.

sure also for other types ... like Multi, WIG, Letterbox, Earthcache, ...

Is there an easier way (filter) to search by attribute, rather than making a pocket query?

Many times I like to search on attributes? f.e. "boat", but the only way I know on how to this is by making a PQ. And that's not a handy filter option. I've found a certain site where there"s a direct 'nightcache' filter, so thats a solution for that attribute.

Hello,

when I open the live map in Firefox (62.0.3) and Google Chrome (69.0.3497.100) the tools like filter, settings and the other are not working. At IE 10 they are working. I've disabled uBlock and Privacy Badger in Firefox, nothing changes. At Chrome I don't use add ons. My operating System is Windows 10 Professional 64 Bit with the build 1809.
I don't want to use the Internet Explorer because it's very slow.

Missing region / county map not honouring filters

I am not sure this is a bug, but I also don't think I am doing this wrong:

I use the "Map - Region" or "Map - County" to find those we did not have find in yet or to see how many finds in each subdivision.

Seems to work.

I can add a filter "Type: only multi checked" and then have to set "Size: all 7 checked", which is easy to do.

The result however does not change. I would have expected to now only see Multichaches (and a lot more red and smaller numbers). The map and number breakdown does not change though.

Any idea?

How to use custom filters

I am very new to Project-GC so please forgive my total ignorance at this point. I am trying to grasp and use some of the power that seems built into this service. I built a custom filter in order to find caches with a specific attribute. I believe it is set up correctly, but now what? How/where exactly do I USE the filter to simply see a list which the attributes selected? I go to the live map screen, but do not see a way to apply the filter there. I do see how to use them in some of the specific searches, but those tend to not be general enough searches. is there a way to simply filter a map to see all of a certain type of cache in my local area?

In Firefox (Vers. 58.0.2) when using live map the filter windows is not shown. If I click on the funel-symbol nothing happens. The same with the other icon below.

But "search" works: the window is displayed.

In other browser everything is ok. Any idea?

Filter by Virtual GPS should have a "not in VGPS" option.

Since there is a limit of 3000 items to be displayed in some lists, it would be useful to have a filter that excludes caches already in a certain VGPS list. (you can include only ones already on a list)

For example, I want to build a vGPS of all the geocaches in Finland wit a given set of filters, but I can only display a list of 3000 at once. After I add these to a vGPS list, it would be great if I could then exclude the caches on that list from subsequent searches, In this way, I could quickly populate the vGPS list they way I want it.

There may be other reasons why excluding caches from a list would be useful. Comment below if you have a use case for this feature.

live map filters do not respond to touch events

As previously discussed in the other QA and I finally found a way how to reliably reproduce this issue (while working on other projects), I am starting a new bug report.

The functionality is fine with normal "click" events on computer, but the "touch" events are not registered. There is simple way to reproduce it with Chromium browser:

Open the Live Map page: https://project-gc.com/Tools/LiveMap
Press Ctrl+Shift+I to open developer console
Press Ctrl + Shift + M to toggle device toolbar
The screen should shrink to smaller and instead of mouse pointer, there should be "touch" pointer (larger circle)
Open the "Live filters" and try to move "Favorite points" scrollbar

Current result:

The value is not changed.

Expected result:

The value should have been adjusted even from "touch" events.

Show missing hidden month for specific cache types

In my hidden month matrix, i have 4 month left to find in the year 2001. But in some other month, i just have found virtual caches (virtual, earthcache, webcam...) and no physical cache.

Now i want to search for physical caches in months where i only found virtuals.

I tried the Hidden Month map with a filter on all physical caches: didn't work. the result is only the 4 missing months.

Then, i tried a classic cache search via top logged cache, but with the filter physical caches and the specific month. It worked, but you have to search for every month again and again, because the months are not consecutive.

Is there are way to realise it in an easier way like to improve the filter in the hidden month search? Hope you understand what i want to do.

Exactly my question - WARDS are the equivalent to COUNTIES in Washington DC - so they would be appropriate from the guidelines perspective.

What would be necessary to make WARDS available for a challenge checker?

In the "Map" tools, filter by Continent?

In all the "Map X" tools eg Map Hidden Month, can we have a filter for Continent, ie Europe, Africa, Asia, America (N&S), Middle East ?

This is particularly useful as I can see where I need to go in Europe, to find the elusive hidden month or DT I need which might be a short plane journey away.

I know it benefits Europe more than anywhere else in the world, but I think everyone could get use out of it. I often filter by the whole world and remove some of the bigger countries (eg America and Australia, New Zealand) but its still messy. If I could just see European countries, it'd be awesome :)

They could even be listed at the top of the country selection field when it is set to multiple filtering or something if you wanted to keep it simple.

Custom filters allow attributes of a cache, either positive, negative or missing to be used as a filter, but only seem to work as an AND operation, can this be extended to be able to search with an OR operation, e.g. Swimming OR wading OR boat required, to give all water caches rather than just ones with all three attributes?

On a DT search I can specify that I would like to try and complete that grid using only Multi-caches or Unknowns or Larges or Micros etc. and it will show results only for that specific type of cache.

I would like to see expanded search filters for this and other grid searches.

Primarily, I would like to work on completing things like my Jasmer/Fizzy/Day Grid of possibilities by a geographic location. So for instance I want to complete the available Jasmer grid for the state of Texas or I would like to do a Fizzy results for finds and possibilities just for California.

I am thinking of challenging myself to complete a Fizzy Grid in several states and currently I am checking that information manually - which is a pain. Pretty sure all the data is in the project-gc database to do this fairly easily and I know the "check by functionality" exists for container types and sizes so dont think it would be a large effort

Found Filter in vgps does not work

I wanted to filter a VGPS by founds and found that I can't select 'FOUND' as value of the dedicated filter attribute. First I thought that the problem relies on the fact that I had selected a from another person shared VGPS, but I can see the same issue on my own VGPS.

Filter in my found caches with D/T

Sorry if my question is stupid, but I don't find information on the Q&A page.

I just want to know if it's possible to find, for example, wich are my founded caches in D5/T5. I can easily found my first D5/T5 (with my Project GC statistics), but not all of them (it's an example, I only found 3 D5/T5, I know each them).

My biggest wish, it would be to have a list of all my founded caches in T5. Is it possible?

D/T Matrix Filter for different cache types

Currently if I filter for a cache type with this tool, the fields of the matrix that i have filled stay filled even if I haven't filled them with a cache of the type that I have chosen to filter for.

Would it be possible to change this? For example if I filter for multi caches only the fields of the matrix are already filled in which I have found multi caches.

Double D/T Matrix Filter at Tool "Map DT Matrix"

The Tool "Map DT Matrix" offers two identical filters: "Cache type / size" and "D/T type / size ". Both seem to have the same options, the second one is marked "Paying members only". Either one of them is obsolete or I just don't understand the different features :-)
