Hallo zusammen,

ich habe nun die Live-karte für mich entdeckt und bin auch ein Fan vom virtuellen GPS.
Auf der Live-karte würde ich gerne die angezeigten Caches (entweder alle sichtbaren oder durch Auswahl eines Polygons) in mein virtuelles GPS übertragen.
Gibt es so eine Funktion und habe ich die übersehen?

Live Map functionality request: select area and save to Virtual GPS

I know that in some of the map tools (like map of challenge caches) there is the "area selection tool" as well as "save to VGPS button" However, for Live map, for some reason, these are missing. Would it be possible to get those to Live map as well?

If it is of any use, I often travel to remote places and it'd help to gather all the caches of particular area (not necessarily full country/region but user selected area) via VGPS to GPX to c:geo which of course can also be done by other means, but this just could be the most convenient I think.

Live Map is not working for me in Seattle and Vancouver BC areas. I'm on Firefox on a Mac.

The wheel spins and no results. I know there are Large caches in Vancouver that I haven't found but none came up. I also know there are still a few Not Chosens in the Seattle area that I haven't found. None chowed up after the spinning stopped.

Is there a way to only show mystery caches which have corrected coordinates in Live Map or Map Compare?

Scenario Tour Planning:

- solo: using Live Map to identify interesting area, however besides Tradis, Multis, LBs, I'm only interested in mysteries which have been already solved, i.e. have corrected coordinates or challenges fulfilled. Is there any way to omit unsolved mysteries on the map?

Bug report: Map tiles not loading in LiveMap

It would seem that many of the map layers of LiveMap are currently unavailable?

This bug report concerns the following layers:

OpenStreetMap German style
Hydda full
All Esri layers
All Eniro layers

From my browser debugger, the problem seems to be that no request is even dispatched to the tile servers?

No immediate errors are displayed in the JavaScript console when selecting a new layer.

This seems to only afffect the LiveMap page - not pages such as MapCompare.

In the Live map there is a search function and you can read in the info that a gccode search might come in the future. I think that it would be nice to be able to search for coordinates and have the live map center on that coordinates.

Mystery cache with corrected coordinates not showing up when bogus coordinates are outside visible range.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it was intentionally done this way.
I know that mystery caches that have corrected coordinates on the geocaching.com site will show up on the Project-GC live map at the corrected coordinates.
However, I have just noticed that if I move or zoom in such that the original/bogus coordinates are outside the visible part of the map, but the corrected coordinates are in the middle of my screen, the cache disappears from the map.

So could it be that it shows the loaded caches at their corrected coordinates but only loads the caches of which the original/bogus coordinates are on the visible map section ?

Live Map not retrieving data

The Live Map isn't working anymore for me. I get following error message: "Error! Failed to retrieve data, reload page to try again." Happens in both Firefox and Chrome. Any ideas how to solve this?

My browser is Google Chrome.

live map is not showing all caches

Hi
When showing the live map for eom place,not all caches are shown.
All Filters, except "Exclude my finds" and "Exclude my hides ", are reset.

This shows me 7 Caches in the Center of the map:

Can't see overseas caches on live map

Like I'm sure many others I'm planning a trip to the US later this year for the 20 years of geocaching events. I'm trying to use the live map to filter out caches that I want to see but it isn't returning any caches. Is there something that stops this working in the US because I live in Australia?

I want to use the live map as it allows me to filter on things such as altitude.

I've got a cache with parking coordinates within my personal notes. At the live map the position is shown with that coordinates, although I did not correct the final coordinates. I think that's a bug.

It would be nice if the tools for the VGPS that are present on the other maps (like 'hidden date' oder 'hidden month'), so one could just mark an area on the live map and add those geocaches to the VGPS.

When in live map over an area where I have a VGPS for, I need a function to exclude all caches that are already in the current VGPS. For the remaining caches I can then manually decide whether I want to pick them into the current VGPS or not. Is this filtering function available? If not, what alternative approach could be used to achieve the same goal?

I can't filter by favorite points on the live map.

The default units of measure in the Ruler / Live Map seems to km. Can it be changed to miles.

A question about the live maps.........is there any way to drop a pin on a set of coordinates that is not a live cache?

On the live maps, I can see all the geocaches in the area that I'm going to. However, I want to mark some hotels where I will be staying. Is there any way to drop a pin to mark a hotel onto the live map and then print that out?

Feature request: Adding locations to live map/VGPS

Hi,

It would be nice to have a possibility to add locations to a VPGS and live map that would be clearly marked on the map. For example, when planning a trip, I would save the hotel and other important locations on the map as reference points and then can study the caches around them.

Maybe by importing a saved map from google maps?

Could the VGPS controls available on Map Compare be replicated on LiveMap?

Currently it looks like the only way to add caches to the Virtual GPS is to add them one by one by clicking each icon.

I find the tool to circle and capture several caches on the map is particularly useful: however it only exists on Map Compare.

Would that be feasible to implement on LiveMap?

Blank Icons in Maps - Missing Cache Types

I'm seeing some issues with general site slowness/timeouts and missing profile sections (Cumulative Finds by month, Finds by year cache placed, Finds to date) since the upgrade but the big issue for me is most (multi-caches and earthcaches seem to work on the live map) of the cache icons on both the live map and map compare are blank squares, they do not show any cache type or show a broken image. I saw someone reported the same type of issue with FP notification emails but not sure if this is related? Using the latest version of Chrome/Win 7, tried disabling Tampermonkey scripts with no effect.

In Live Map, why doesn't filter for amount of favourite points work like it should anymore?

Over the last few days, I discovered that I can use the live map to find locations or archived geocaches to help me in planning an event for our local group. I went to use the feature today, and found that the option I had up until yesterday to "include archived caches" is no longer visible and I can't see them unless I attempt to use map compare, which bogs my system and browser down when I try to zoom in.

When checking a (for me) new location, I often use the great tool "live map" and this on different environments, means PC and tablet (android).

Through this I found out, that the magnifyer icon (to find a location by name and navigate there, then) does not work on Chrome Browser on my tablet.

While in any other environment typing into the text field - after a little time of being busy - results in a list of proposed locations, in my chrome browser, typing only activates the busy mode (the rolling circle). This state never ends!

With Chrome's new requirement for location services only being available on a secured http connection (https) there are some thing that do not work in the Live Map. Finding your location does work now, but search does not. Also, in https mode none of the options on the left-hand menu (filter, etc.) show up and in http mode they show up but nothing happens when you click.

I like to do filters on the live map and then add each cache to the virtual GPS.

Currently I click on each Cache to bring up the pop-up window and then click the add to virtual gps button.

If I access the livemap via SSL link https://project-gc.com/Tools/LiveMap the menu icons on the left (filter, settings, info, menu) are invisible.

Accessing the livemap via HTTP as http://project-gc.com/Tools/LiveMap the icons are shown.

Okay, I could always use the HTTP link, but at least the greasemonkey browser extension always links to the HTTPS page.

Tested this with Firefox on Linux and Windows.

Feature request - distinguish PMO caches in live map

As the new "funky" icons on the Groundspeak maps no longer distinguish between Premium Member Only caches and ordinary ones, is it possible that this feature could be introduced on Live maps instead? Although I'm a premium member, I like to see which caches aren't available when I go caching with friends who aren't members, as for various reasons they don't log PMO caches even though it's technically possible.

Can you adjust the location of 'live enabled' on the map?

Live Map Issues

I submitted a request before but have not been able to get a follow-up response to it.

I continue to have issues using the live map in Chrome. When I browse to the non https version the map will come up but no menus work and the location finder throws the error that all do in Chrome now that are not on https. If I access the live map using https link the map won't come up.

Is there a fix in the works for this? I prefer using Chrome over FF.

I would like to suggest to add the possibility to store favorite locations. I regularly go to the same few location on the map and needing to do the same searches again and again is ok, but not very fast.

Livemap menus do not open in Chrome (49.0.2623.87 m (64-bit))

Hi,

if I run Live map in Chrome (49.0.2623.87 m (64-bit)) the menus for Filters and settings do not open when I click on the icons. I tried to disable all add-ins without success.

In IE11 it's working but I prefer Chrome. Any idea what the cause could be?

Add map vgps tooltips

In my aim to add map legends and make tools self explanatory, could tooltips please be added to the vgps sub-controls on the various maps on PGC. (calling this a bug as it breaks PGC's current standards: tooltips are implemented on all other map controls and subcontrols.)

There have already been questions on the forum as to how to populate vgps from maps, the tooltips would have avoided this.

Incidentally - we would also like the VGPS controls added to livemap :-)

Live map shown on Android phone with bigger icons for geocaches

The LIVE map looks great on a computer.

When I browse on my Android phone with a standard browser, the geocache icons are very small.

Zooming in decreases the map area, but the icons are still very small.

How can I zoom in (or scale) so that the icons are shown bigger?

Include features in live-map.

Actually. I love the Live Map on project-gc. I was wondering if it is possible to include the other tools on the page in the live map so that we eventually will have only one source to search for the things we need.

We could show only the caches we need to complete the D/T matrix
Search for spesific attributes
Add caches to the list in the same way we do on the county/state maps and other maps. I miss the buttons with the green plus or red minus next to a phone, the circle and the tool to mark an area and include all caches in that area.
I want to choose a spesific country, state or county.

I know it is a lot to ask. But I believe many tools could be included in the Live Map to save both time and resources :)

So what I am trying to do is the following... get a map with ~30 markers (coords) and a 4km radius around each of those markers. Then list GCs within those circled areas, preferably as Live Map Overlay and list of caches. Any ideas? What I tried so far: Flopps Map (limited to 26 markers and, which is worse, no GC.com cache overlay possible), my second attempt is to define bookmarks for all caches within those 30x4km radius areas...but this is lacking the "live" part. Sorry if I explained this more complicated then it actually is.. however I cannot find a easy solution or any solution for that matter right now. Can Project-GC help me find it? ;)

In the end this is obviously gonna end up as a "Challenge-Checker" :)

Winter safe caches in the Live Map?

As I am living high up in the north of Norway the landscape is covered with snow these days. I would like to sort out the caches that are winter safe in the live map.

First of all. Thank you for the tool: Live Map. It is perfect for my search of caches, live and running. I would like to sort by attributes on this map. Especially searching for winter safe caches. But perhaps someone else would like to search for tree climb caches or dive caches. Or someone is trying to find missing attributes. Is this something that is in the making? Or is it something worth considering?

Hi. I want to view caches on the live map in a specific county. Then I want to use a tool to load those caches in a park into my virtual gps. I can get the county part and the map a section part. But no caches show up.

Is there a way to do this Or any other way? I want to see the map so I can see if a cache is in the park for a challenge. Thanks!

Why I got shown caches on the live map of project gc , which are archived for 2 months? GC543RG is archived since end of September. Is it a bug or or an issue of data caching?
