[Awaiting feedback] Checker for specific caches GCA2N1P

GCA2N1P

I'm looking to hide a challenge cache that requires cachers to find 4 specific caches.

https://coord.info/GC42B8R
https://coord.info/GC19CJ0
https://coord.info/GC7Z2ZC
https://coord.info/GC557

Each one is either the furthest north, east, south, or west cache in Ottawa County, Michigan, USA. The challenge is called the 4 corners challenge.

The checker would just need to confirm that cachers have found all of those caches.

This challenge is not allowed.

"4. Source of criteria. Challenge cache owners must demonstrate that there are plenty of qualifying caches to meet the challenge at the time of publication."

Since you require 4 specific caches to be found, that's obviously not "plenty ".

Here is an update to see if this will work. And to your post, this challenge is not related to the cache pages, it is related to the location of these specific caches.

This challenge is for cachers to find the furthest north, east, south and west caches in Ottawa County, Michigan, USA. As to the "plenty" stipulation posted by another person, I've added a second cache to each direction.

So for this checker, each cacher would have to have one from each direction: North, East, South, and West. Four total finds (out of 8), but one has to be from each direction pair.

Again the challenge criteria don't allow you to use GCcodes

Sorry if I'm not being clear. The GC codes have nothing to do with the challenge, other than identifying the specific caches I would like as a part of the challenge.

What does "plenty" mean? I'm honestly asking. There are historic challenge caches of certain counties that have been placed since the new guidelines have gone into affect that require 5 of 7. So if I added two more caches, it would make things acceptable?

The rules are somewhat ambiguous - at least some of them. HQ also changes what they decide is acceptable, without changing the posted rules, or notifying anyone. It's unfortunate for those trying to come up with challenges, and for those making checkers, but it's their prerogative.

I had one of my own, and seen another that I logged recently be archived by HQ, because they were not acceptable under their guidelines. Publication is up to the reviewers, but they don't necessarily involve HQ. If HQ subsequently decides that the challenge is unacceptable, they will archive it. So, just because there is another challenge that seems unacceptable, doesn't mean that it is allowed. The reviewer might have thought it was okay, and HQ doesn't agree, but doesn't know about it.

In terms of "plenty of caches" I have been told specifically recently, that the Jasmer challenge is a special allowed case for the "plenty" rule, and nothing more restrictive than that is allowed. Since there are only 4 August 2000 caches left, presumably "plenty" means at least 4 caches per criteria. But, since I am not the rule enforcer, I can't tell you specifically.

The main problem is that it is not acceptable to use GCcodes as a challenge criteria.

But also the most northerly, easterly etc criteria is a criteria that points to only 4 caches

An acceptable criteria is if a cachers extreme northernmost, easternmost, westernmost, and southernmost caches have a minimum distance around them.

See checker https://project-gc.com/Challenges//73282 however your don't qualify while a lot of cachers will
