[Awaiting feedback] New Checker Request
August 16, 2020 04:20PM
Hello,

is it possible to create the following checker?

In each calendar month (January, February, March etc.)

5 different cache types 5 founds each (i.e. 25 founds)

Each found may occur only once on an 81 matrix.

Thank you very much

Hello,

Yes this would be possible, though it doesn't exist at this time (most checkers use existing scripts with different configuration). If we created a new script for your challenge it would be unlikely to be reused for other challenges, which is a factor.

Groundspeak guidelines would require each month Jan, Feb... would be 'any' January....not necessarily in the same year, are you OK with that?

Would you expect it to be the same 5 types each month... or the 5 types could change each month?

Hello,

on question one, yes, it's OK.

To question two, the cache types can change every month.

Hello,

is there still a missing information? Please let me know. Thank you very much.

I noticed that there was an outstanding question.

In order to start on this request we need a GCcode to attach to the checker

Thanks a lot for your effort.

I created a cache with the GCcode GC92KBF.

Checker is complete.

https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC92KBF/56522

Unfortunately you do not qualify (neither do I).... I reduced the numbers down to the maximum where you do qualify:
- 3 types
- 4 finds
- 12 months
You qualify for 4, 4, 11..... and myriad other combinations..... let me know how you want to configure it.

The checker bails on each month as soon as it finds qualifying numbers.... so the output reflects that point and not the absolute totals.

I think this is a good solution. 4 different types with

4 founds each (fitting into the 81 matrix) and this in

each calendar month. If there is still something missing I have to fulfill it.

Sorry, you qualify for 4 finds, 3 types, 12 months but NOT for anything that involves 4 types per month.
My comment yesterday was mistaken, instead it was 5 finds, 3 types, 11 months... I had tried many combinations for you and mixed two of them up, sorry. (see below)

If you want to go with all 12 months you need to either use:
- 4 finds, 3 types, 12 months
OR
- 5 finds, 3 types, 12 months AND find what you need in December (a unique multi-cache would do it)

For now I have left the checker configured to be 5,3,12.... so you can check when you qualify and therefore can then publish. If you want me to change it back to 4,3,12 then let me know.
