Whoops, must have missed that one. Sorry for wasting your time and thanks for the quick reply! Stefanby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Hi all! As Project GC lists the percentage of caches found per country on the maps page (https://project-gc.com/Statistics/ProfileStats#Maps) I would like to ask if you could build a checker to see if a cacher has found 10% or more of a country's caches. Of course this is only possible in small countries, but I managed to find17% of all caches in San Marino in just one day - with just 7 logby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Perfect job, as always! :-) Thanks so much!by famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there! I'd like to put a clone of the classic Jasmer challenge out. The new GC is GC8F2YJ. So I'd like to request a checker to see if the cacher has found a cache published in each month of the game. Thank you! Famlangerws / Stefanby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there! I have an idea for a holiday caching challenge: Find 10 different types of caches within one holiday abroad. As I'm not sure if the guidelines allow this challenge and furthermore if programming a checker is feasible, I would like to have your opinions first. To clarify: - You have to find 10 cache types in a different country than your home country. - Leaving that countryby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
That's fine! Thanks for your effort, and best wishes! Stefanby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Wow, that was quick! Works fine for me. Just one thing: If I check my own account, I don't see the 5/5 multi GC5XEJN in my results. But that's not a big deal. Thanks a lot, pieterix!by famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there, could anyone please create a challenge checker to see if a geocacher has found 55 multi caches with a T rating of 2.5 or more. That's it already. It would be a cool extra feature, though, if the output could be sorted by T rating, starting with the T5 caches. The idea is getting couch potato / park-and-grab cachers out of their cars and into the woods. ;-) Your helpby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I've had second thoughts about the project vis a vis its acceptance by the local community. Thanks anyway for your input, but I don't need the checker anymore. Best wishes, Stefanby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Breaking the streak is not what I had in mind. You can go on caching after the find, that would neither affect the challenge nor the streak. PS I realize using the checker is problematic. You first have to log the challenge cache as found and use the checker right after the log if it's your current streak. The checker wouldn't make much sense beforehand. However the checker is necessby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Hi arisoft, only repdicits should be allowed i.e. 111, 222, 333 and so on. Is that possible? Thanks!by famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Hi there, recently I had the idea of publishing a challenge cache concerning a repdigit finding streak: The challenge is met if the number of days in a cacher's streak is a repdigit of three or more digits (so you need to have a streak of at least 111 days to fulfil the challenge). I would like to allow both the current streak or the longest streak to qualify for the challenge (so if yourby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Excellent job, that green tick mark looks so much better! :-) Thank you and happy caching!by famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hello everyone, the challenge checker for GC30YWF seems not to be working properly. The criteria are: - 450 or more finds - sum of D/T average 4.0 or more - D and T average at least 1.95 My profile famlangerws exceeds all these criteria, but I don't get a green light on the checker. As this challenge is easy to check manually this is not an urgent problem, but I thought you'd lby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi vogelbird, what a quick reply! Yes, that's exactly what I need. I guess I can go ahead and use the checker? Thank you and best wishes, Stefanby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
pieterix and vogelbird, thank you very much for your feedback. I have changed my challenge accordingly. Could you please program a checker to see if a cacher has found 13 challenge-compatible cache types in his caching career? The GC code will be GC7D5ZQ . Thank you very much for your help! Best wishes, Stefan / famlangerwsby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hello everyone, as I would like to create two challenge caches for diverse caching I would like to ask you for the following two checkers: A ) Logging ten different cache types in one calendar day - I guess that this is not acceptable under the 2016 rules? B ) For having logged 14 different cache types (no date restriction, including lab caches) I have fulfilled both requirements. Couldby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi Target, now I see what you mean and understand why it is forbidden. My idea was that you are not forced to log "busy days", but I hadn't understood that even having the option to log "busy days" is against the rules. OK, clear. In the meantime a reviewer had a look at the cache and disallowed it, as expected. He also said that Groundspeak doesn't allow UnChaby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi Target, that's the page I read. Re-reading it, the only explicitly disallowed item I can find is trackable logs. But one is enough to blow the challenge, I can see that. 280.000 finds? Amazing! I don't think any real log reviewing takes place there. Anyway that's why I think that the diversity of the log texts should be taken into account for the Author badge (e.g. if more tby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hello Target, very good idea to make a mystery out of belts and badges, that will make people learn about them! I will definitely take that idea on board. (tu) Where can I find those precise guidelines? Is that something only reviewers see, or did I overlook something? BTW, with "nice logs and pictures" I meant the exact opposite of what you described. Good morning everyone, wow - I never guessed that this little challenge would cause such a stir! Thank you very much for giving me constructive feedback; there is a lot of learning involved for me here. If you feel that I have taken up enough of your time, I can perfectly understand you and won't expect you to read the lengthy post below. You have given me good ideas what to do. Hi Target, thank you very much for implementing the checker and pointing out the list of problems. I understand your arguments, but I hope you have also seen my motivation for writing the listing; i.e. getting newbie cachers interested in well-rounded caching, not just sucking up powertrails and leaving one-word logs. Maybe I'm lucky with a lenient reviewer, maybe not. Thanks for allby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thanks again for looking into this. Should I contact the script writer (his name is target, right?) myself, or how does that work? Interestingly, the numbers on the banner are working OK, as it seems. The count goes up, anyway.by famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thank you very much indeed! Fingers crossed...(tu) Edit: Just tried the checker myself and got this error message: Array ( => 98 => attempt to concatenate local 'beltLevel' (a nil value) ) Got profile name, famlangerws Is that to be expected because the cache is not online yet, or could you fix that please? Thanks! Stefanby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
First of all, thanks for the quick reply! Concerning your feedback: I know that you mustn't purely rely on external software so I said in the listing text that users can also send me their geocaching.com stats and point out how they earned their 30 points. That's not a one click solution but shouldn't take too long either. It's a bit strange that Groundspeak requires a chaby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Dear challenge checker team, having achieved my yellow geocaching belt, I thought I would like to share the experience with other newbie cachers and encourage them to learn more about geocaching. Thus I have created a new challenge cache, GC6Y3A5 https://coord.info/GC6Y3A5 The challenge is very simple: Achieve 30 or more points and earn your yellow belt. Just as a recommendation, not a loggby famlangerws - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
