Well there's more than 9 unique types of geocaches. There's a script out there already that allows a slight modification via tag that you could set how many unique cache types a cacher must find for each calendar month. There's also an older script out there that specifically defines 8 cache types that must be found, but that script includes CITO events in the original 8 undeby OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Lab caches can't be included as a criteria for a challenge per HQ guidelines. It doesn't look like you're specifically saying "10 lab cache finds must be included" but the challenge won't be able to include them as qualifying criteria. The 10 categories would need to be filled by other cache types. https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=by OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The existing script used by the existing challenge you quoted classifies a CITO event as well as MEGA and GPS maze events as "EVENTS". So the 8 cache types actually include Traditional Cache Multi-Cache Mystery Cache EarthCache Virtual Cache Letterbox Hybrid Wherigo Cache Event Cache (Event, Mega, Giga, CITO, Maze, etc.) <--- Multiple types in one bucket So there mayby OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Just to clarify, You only want it to be the 8 cache types listed? And 9 cache types listed? There is an existing script that exists to find X number of types in each calendar month, but that script allows mega events, GPS maze, etc. Based on the existing challenge you quoted it looks like you just want to use: Traditional Cache Multi-Cache Mystery Cache EarthCache Virtual Cache Lettby OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Another tip: You don't have to be 100% finished with creating your challenge cache page for us to create a checker. If you're planning on hiding a challenge cache, you can create the geocache page, select UNKNOWN TYPE cache, type in your challenge title (it can be changed later - just so you know which GC goes with which challenge at this point), then we can make the checkers for youby OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
So the checker is based on a set of data for "US Regions" of which the District of Columbia is considered one. It's up to you how you'd like to present your challenge. It would meet current challenge guidelines either way: QuoteFind ONE (1) cache in a minimum of 10 US States (District of Columbia is NOT considered a state for this challenge.) or QuoteFind ONE (1) caby OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Feel free to post a thread with the remaining 4 GC codes and requirements for the other caches that require challenges. I'd be happy to take a look at those for you as well.by OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Here's a link to your checker. https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8EX53/45700 Please test and reply. *** To answer the other part about being unsure how to link the checker to your cache page, when you click on the above link, you'll find a button that says "LINK" on the right side. When you click on that, it'll provide you 3 different blocks of HTML codeby OnABoat - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)

Here's a link to the challenge cache guidelines available from Geocaching HQ. Challenge Cache Guidelines Unfortunately I don't see anything that specifically says a firm number allowed on number of cache types per challenge. I think it would depend more on the type of challenge you're attempting to create to ensure it meets the rest of the guidelines.by OnABoat - Miscellaneous
