I would like a challenge checker for having Full D/T with 3 different types. For example, all 81 unique D/T combinations with Trad/Multi/Letterbox, a total of at least 3*81 finds. A partial screenshot of my cache description: https://1447.se/shutter/Screenshot_20171221_14%3A32%3A03_256.png I tried to find a suitable script, but failed that. I don't think this is technically possible as it is now. The LUA scripts can't signal back without actually exiting. A new sandbox would then have to be started to continue the calculations.by magma1447 - Method requests
I don't think you guys will notice really, but just in case. There seems to be a transition period of about 24 hours still. The workflow when updating polygons is quite simple. We import new ones, but all geocaches are still assigned areas according to the old ones. We the queue up a recalculation for every geocache in that country. Meanwhile, some geocaches will have counties from the olby magma1447 - Checker news
Updating polygon data for Australia. We have been asked quite a few times about it, but haven't found the data. OSM is far from complete. Vogelbird sent me an email today saying he found links in the QA forum. From there I managed to extract the data needed. Been taking the whole day though. Had some issues to solve on the way. Updating polygon data for New Zealand. Formerly it had 15 counties, it will now have 17. Tasman will be added. There was a county called Nelson which represented both these. Sometimes it seems to be called Nelson-Tasman. The proper way seems to be to have both though. Chatham Islands is also added, a group of islands outside mainland.by magma1447 - Checker news
FYI, we have data for lab caches in our database and have had for over a year. This is probably known by now with our fairly recent changes. There are a few issues to resolve though. Some users had logged the same lab cache several times, this was solved by a bugfix in the API last week. Right now we are waiting for an explanation of how to use there datetimes to actually get the same date asby magma1447 - Script development
Correction. The amount hasn't increased. It seems to be two less than before. Sadly the import flow doesn't work as usual so I don't have a list of differences. When I thought it had increased I didn't think about the fact that Ã…land is it's own country in the Groundspeak world. The import scripts automatically discarded those counties.by magma1447 - Checker news

Updating polygon data for Finland. We use official data records from "Finnish Lantmäteriet". Earlier we had version 2016, now updating to 2017. There seem to be ~10 more counties now than before. Then I also know that at least one has been merged with another.by magma1447 - Checker news

I agree with you. Setting difficulty/terrain to 0 or 1 wouldn't be correct. Setting it to NULL is something I would consider correct and the checker script would then have to handle it in the way the challenge expects it. Adding NULL values like that is likely to break existing scripts, or at least give unexpected results. On the other hand, I also agree with what you are quoting. Quoteby magma1447 - Checker news

Our PostGIS database went corrupt today and I didn't manage to fix it properly. Since the idea from the start has been that we can recreate GIS-data from data files, we haven't had backups of the GIS database until just a few days ago. Sadly, that includes the corrupted data that crashes Postgresql. Last month, we did however move the virtual machine from one server to another. Thby magma1447 - Checker news
I am not sure it will actually help much in reality, and also most checker scripts would have to be adjusted. But regardless, it has been the plan for quite long and it's not a big change. I have implemented it in our development environment today. In October 2015 Luxembourg dissolved their 3 districts which Project-GC used as regions. Source, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_divisions_of_Luxembourg Project-GC has now removed them as well. So an update. For now, I have removed the 50 kB limit again. There has been two changes, one of them based o what arisoft said. 1) The auto challenge checkers now don't purify the html. Since they don't use it, we just clear it instead. This isn't a relevant noticeable change, except for the CPUs. 2) The html output is now stored for 5 minutes in a key/value store. Since a while back we have started to cut the the html output from checker scripts after 50 kB. This might have caused some scripts to break. There are two main reasons to this change. 1) Makes it harder to data-harvest. This is actually not of our biggest concern since it's still possible. We also know who has access to writing scripts and any abuse of the data would be reported to Geocaby magma1447 - Checker news
A script can since about a month ago return a timeout, properly. Before it did just timeout and in some cases the process kept running server side. Quite heavy for the system in some case. The auto-challenge-checkers in the background produced a lot of these. Anyway. I made some patches and fixed that part. cache_description should be there if the fields array has the element 'cache_description'. It's the same with placed_by, which isn't equal to owner_name. I can not in the source code see any reference to owner_name, though it would be doable of course. It would add some overhead time since the data is in another database table. But most likely faster than getting the name fby magma1447 - Script development

Updated Austria's polygons to the latest OSM data after some complaints about polygons in Salzburg that shouldn't exist. I notice that the OSM data isn't 100% ready yet. It's progressing slowly. It seems like all new code to calculate the relations are in place now. The next step is to actually let the servers do the calculation, expected to take at least 24 hours.
