Because there is no biocache cache type, and the guidelines for earthcaches don't allow biology as a subject for the cache.

And also, any decision to create a biocache cache type should come from geocaching.com not project-gc :)

I think partly because the biology of the area is likely to change quicker than the geology.

probably the geology is more fixed in time ... (humor) ...

there are biological conceptsometimes in earthcache like different types of erosion ... 

hiding a biological involve consultation to go on-site exchange eg chemical which may be difficult to measure; but if the proposal is possible I think the reviewers might consider viable
