Hi - I've suddenly started receiving warnings that I use an ad blocker, despite me being a paying member of PGC. Is this intentional?

Not sure if it's connected, but it keeps requesting me to authenticate as well.
Further comment - I have disabled adblocker for the site, yet I am still getting the annoying pop-ups. I have therefore changed this to a bug report.

I have the same issue. I am a paying member, so why does the system even test, whether I am using an adblocker at all? I created an exception now for project-gc.com, but this cleary is an error in the programming of the adblocker popup. First check foe membership and then check for the adblocker, only if the mebership does not exist.

regards,

Martin

The popup you are seeing is a part of our new (Google's) Cookie consent. This Cookie consent has anti-ad-block built into it. If we could, we would only ask for Cookie consent for our paid users and not to turn off ad-block. However we can't control it that way.

It should however be safe to turn off any ad-blockers from Project-GC if you are a paying member since there won't be any ads served. Any tracking will follow the cookie consent given.

We have updated the text in the anti-ad-block-modal though. Both to make it clearer to why it's there (that it's a part of the cookie consent), and that we can't differentiate paid and unpaid users in this case.

Without an ad-blocker you should however not receive any popup on every page load. If that's the case something isn't working. We'll be following up on this the coming days to see what we can find out.

If any paid members are seeing ads, please inform us, because that should neither be the case. We don't have any reports about that this far though.

We have now reconfigured the warning/popup/anti-adblock to now abuse those that allow "Acceptable Ads". Hopefully that will help you, and others.
The tracking cookies from Google are the problem. You should remove them from your services.
I am a paying member and have disabled Adblock Plus in Firefox for "This website: project-gc.com" but I still get the "please enable ads" popup on every 3rd or 4th page. It is very frustrating.
