[Awaiting feedback] GCA64CC - Checker request
March 19, 2023 09:25PM
Hi there,

I would like to request another checker. It is based on this one: https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8ZME1/59054. For 10 different cache types, the cacher has to fill the calendar as follows:

* 1 cache type full 366 days (if February 29 is not allowed: 365 days)
* 1 cache type 300 days
* 1 cache type 200 days
* 1 cache type 100 days
* 2 cache types 50 days
* 2 cache types 25 days
* 2 cache types 10 days

Thanks,
dabjoern

Please test.

366 is unfortunately not permitted so I've set it to 365 instead.

I don't think this is permitted, you can only have a total of 365 days like checker 59054

Ah, you're right, the # per calendar day applies here.

Thank you. Can you elaborate what is not permitted? The challenge idea or the 366 days? If 366 is not okay, 365 is totally fine.

It's one of those things where it's a bit fuzzy - your Reviewer may choose to cite:

Quote
Challenge Cache Guidelines - Section 9: Time-Limited

NOT ACCEPTABLE
Requiring more than one find on any day or calendar date, even if cumulative. Example: find 5 caches for every date of the Finds for Each Day of the Year grid.

In this case, if we add up all the numbers (365 + 300 + 200 + ...) that's more than 365, so requires more than 1 on any day or calendar date.

(Technically, by this Guideline, "find 10,000" caches is illegal because 10,000 > 365 - but Reviewers do not enforce this here. However, since your Challenge involves calendars, they may choose to deny publication citing this rule.)

I am in contact with our reviewer. Very interesting that this is not allowed. We do not require the year. It is totally up to the user. The whole rule seems to be a little bit outdated since the headquarter itself has a souvenir challenge which requires the user to find 100 caches in less than 30 days.

Headquarters makes the guidelines; they can break them too.
