Re: 10000 Finds Challenge

Hi there,

when launching my Challenge-GeoCache the reviewer told me to look for
a Challenge-Checker right here, having it developped and installed before
publishing. So here are the criteria:

1) Having achieved 10000 finds or even more.
and/or
2) Having moved/discovered at least 10000 trackable items.
and/or
3) Owning a 10000-Finds-Achievement-GeoCoin.

At 3) I'm really not sure if guidelines permit such a criteria or if it's possible
to work this out. So, if not possible 1) and 2) only will do.

1 and 2 is possible to check but 3 cant be done with the checker API.
I would guess that 3 was not ok according to the old guidelines. There is no mention of travelbugs/geocoing but my guess is that rule 7 applies to them to
"7. Challenge caches may not require the publication or ownership of a geocache or waymark as a challenge criteria; challenge caches must be achievable by those who do not own geocaches or waymarks."

I added a tag to a checker http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCX0010/20346 It does not work now because the or function is added and a bug is alos fixed

I just discovered your work. Thank you so much!!!
So if I have it right, I just copy one of the three versions of the link to
my GeoCache and will then fulfill the new Challenge criteria?
And of course I already checked the Checker. I don't fulfill my own
criteria, but I knew that. And I had a green light for someone who
obviously fulfills the criteria. Splendid!!!

I just tried some more and as it seems the Checker only works on
criteria 2) Having moved/discovered 10000 trackables.

But it doesn't work on 1) Having made 10000 GeoCache Finds.

Is it possible to fix that?

If it's technically not possible to combine both criteria into one Checker,
so the solution could be to create a second one and I will install both
of them, allowing to log when one of the Checkers shows "green".

Yes it was possible and is fixed.. I was my mistake that read criteria incorrect.

By the way tagging with two checkers that looks for different things is not appropriate. They will be run in an undefined order in the background. If you fulfill one criteria what is on the pgc maps can be incorrect.

sorry to ask you again, but it still doesn't work correctly.

So, it gives "green" for someone having 10000 GeoCache Finds AND
10000 trackables moved. That's ok.

But the Checker gives "red" for someone having 10000 GeoCache Finds,
but not 10000 trackables moved.

And it gives "red" for someone having 10000 trackables moved, but
not 10000 GeoCache Finds.

Would you please review that?

And I think it counts 10000 GeoCoins and not 10000 trackables in general.

I reas the original requirements wrong and changed to geocoin. It is now trackables.
There was an error in the finds code and i have send a patch to the owner
All should work soon
And it it not "trackables moved" it is "trackables moved/discovered". There is no easy access to tell the difference in the gc.com API
