Re: Modify checker?

[Resolved] Modify checker?
October 09, 2019 12:50PM
Hi

This checker https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8CQC9/44830
is currently used for a travel to five countries challenge.

The cache page indicates the intent is physical challenge and advises that liar caches, known armchair logs, and international cooperation caches (with a remote log) should not be included.
Is there any way of modifying the challenge to add some of these limits?
I suspect not.
However perhaps the checker output could be changed so the message says "You may qualify for this challenge. Please check to ensure you have qualifying caches that match the challenge requirements as on the cache page."
Is this acceptable?
Open to other thoughts.

thanks
Brad/Bill

This checker is set to
"Traditional Cache",
"Unknown Cache",
"Multi-cache",
"Letterbox Hybrid",
"Wherigo Cache",
"Project APE Cache",
"Groundspeak HQ"

which are the physical cache types.
The script also exclude "Travelling"caches.

I do not see the need of adding an additional remark on the output because it shows in detail the type

Thanks Vogelbird

On reflection, and looking at the output, I would like a modification please.
Currently the checker lists a cache from the first five countries only. A couple of people have had “international cooperation” caches included but do have other countries with qualifying finds.
So can I ask that the output be modified to list a cache from all countries where they have a find please? Then it will be easier to edit out those which don’t count.
Thanks
Bill/Brad

You will need a different script with a different output
