Elevation Challenge Request
May 09, 2016 09:39PM
Hello, there!

I am seeking someone to help me out with a challenge I pretty much have written up and is just waiting for the flood gates to be opened. Per Groundspeak guidelines, however, I need a checker.

I am not quite sure what I will call it right now, but the point and requirement of the challenge is to achieve a combined 100,000 feet of elevation with 10 cache finds or less. It doesn't matter what type of cache it is, just that the elevation requirement is met.

I wouldn't think this one would be too hard to write for an experienced person, but seeing as how I am not, I don't want to assume, LOL. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks! :)

Post the gc code and i will tag the challenge.

I found one with 100,000 feet on 8 caches when i looked at the checker http://coord.info/GC1TZK6

I found the checker...should have just searched for "100,000" as a term, LOL...

Will this work, even though the requirement allows for ten caches?

The script will work
Bur the gccode has to be added and the parameters has to be changed.
Post the gccode and i will tag it for you. I guess that don't have access to do it yourself.
If you have not created the cache on gc.com create it but dont submit it for review. And post the gc code here

I got it now. Sorry for my thick-headedness. Here's the GC code: GC6HDC8

Created.
The challenge name will be there when the cache is published

Hi there...

Just for fun, I ran the checker. It ran great, but the output was in meters. Is this the default or can it be changed to feet? If you can, that'd be great. However, I do understand if it cannot be changed. No matter what, I do appreciate the effort you put into helping me. Thank you.

There no option for that .You have to ask the script writer for a change.
One problem if it is an option is that the data is in integer meters in the database and there will be rounding errors in the output.

By the way the foot has been defined as 0.3048 meters since 1959.

Will this work, even though I will allow 10 caches, or will it need to be altered to another one?

The script will work but is has to be tagged with the gccode and the correct parameters.
Post the gc code and i will add the tag immediately.
If you have not created the cache on gc.com create it and dont submit it for review and post the gc code here
