Re: Request for Checkers for Portugal and the Azores

Dear Project-GC Family,

I would like to lay 6 challenges for Portugal and the Azores and need here for 6 checkers, but similar. Therefore I put the request for support in a message.

The following checkers are needed:

GCACX6W I. Challenge in the west
Log condition: 40 Earthcaches in Portugal visited and logged.
(Country=Portugal)

GCAD24T II. Challenge in the west
Log condition: 40 Earthcaches in the Azores visited and logged.
(State=Arquipélago dos Açores)

GCAD29J III Challenge in the West
Log condition: 40 Earthcaches on the Azores visited and logged, but only 15 of them may be on the island of Sao Miguel.
(State=Arquipélago dos Açores; Sao Miguel consists of the counties:
Lagoa, Ponta Delgada, Nordeste,Povoação, Ribeira Grande and Vila Franca Do Campo).

GCAD2PP IV. Challenge in the West
Log condition: 20 virtuals visited and logged in Portugal.
(Country=Portugal)

GCAD2Q0 V. Challenge in the West
Log condition: 15 Virtuals visited and logged in the Azores.
(Country=Arquipélago dos Açores)

GCAD2QA VI Challenge in the West
Log condition: 10 Virtuals visited and logged on the Azores, but only 5 of them may be on the island of Sao Miguel.
(State=Arquipélago dos Açores; Sao Miguel consists of the counties:
Lagoa, Ponta Delgada, Nordeste,Povoação, Ribeira Grande and Vila Franca Do Campo).

Of course I fulfill all 6 challenges myself.

I would be very happy if someone would take on the creation of these checkers. Many thanks already.

I apologise for not getting back to you until today. I have always waited for a different kind of email that the checkers are ready. An email came very quickly, but at first I only took it as information that I had created a topic. This is the first time I have asked for a checker and I am still inexperienced in Project GC. But now I have tested all the checkers and from my point of view and with my findings, all 6 checkers work very well.

Hello Hügh,
Some time ago you kindly built checkers for a series of challenges. Unfortunately, the challenges are still not published because the reviewer responsible is quite over-sat and also very petty. He keeps asking for new things when you have fulfilled other requests.
Therefore I would like to ask you to adapt your checker for GCACX6W. Currently your checker checks for 40 earthcaches, which is too difficult according to the reviewer. He only accepts a challenge with 30 earthcaches. Would you be so kind as to change your checker from 40 to 30?
If it is not too much of a hassle, you could adjust the output of the check to show which caches were used to complete the challenge.

I will then publish GCACX6W and GCAD2PP first and then take care of the other 4 challenges. There are also adjustments required.

So that the numbering is correct, I will change the numbering in the title of GCAD2PP, but that has no effect on your Cheker.

If you have fun programming, I would like to ask you to add an output of the qualifying virtuals to the checker for GCAD2PP.

You might probably not remember that you created six checkers for me.
Your Checkers for GCACX6W and GCAD2PP are in use as the caches were published already a few weeks ago.

As I am still struggling with the reviewer, I need to change the conditions for those challenges to get the caches published. Including an adjustment as in GCACX6W and GCAD2PP, where you have added the checkers so that a list with the qualifying caches is output.

I would really appreciate your support once again.
Unfortunately Project-GC does not offer the possibility to test how many cachers from Germany fulfil the requirements for the individual caches. Hopefully the hurdles are now so low that no further adjustments to the checkers are necessary.

I wasn't entirely sure what you meant in the case of GCAD29J and GCAD2QA -- is that 3 on the island of Sao Miguel, or at most 3 (of the 5 or 4 found in the Azores)? I assume the first, but if it is the second, let me know and I can change it.

For now I will leave the previous four checkers in the system, but once you confirm these I will clear those out to avoid potential confusion.

For clarification of your two questions I describe them again, but in different words.

GCAD29J
30 earth caches in Portugal in total.
5 out of those 30 must have been found on the Azores.
At least 2 out of those 5 Founds on the Azores have to be found on an island which is not Sao Miguel.

GCAD2QA
20 Virtuals visited in Portugal in total.
4 out of those 20 must have been found on the Azores.
At least 1 out of those 4 Founds on the Azores has to be been found on an island which is not Sao Miguel.

It is always very difficult to be precise if you are not using your mother tongue. Please excuse.

I will test all checkers if all of them are complete.

Then you can delete the old four. It really makes sense to reduce the confusion by deleting unnecessary checkers. Good idea!

thank you for adjusting the checkers. I just tested them. I made the experience that there is a problem with case sensity.
If I use https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAD2QA/84269 with user pöni the checker runs into an error. If I use user Pöni instead everythings works fine. This problem occurs with the other checkers, too. Is there chance that you avoid this problem by selecting the correct way of writing?

Unfortunately the Project-GC system is case-sensitive for usernames everywhere. You can see this for example on the ProfileStats page:

So you have to type "Pöni" with the uppercase P yourself. Otherwise an error occurs since Project-GC fails to find the account. And in this case the script isn't even run, so there is nothing I can do.
