[Resolved] New Checker GCAFQ7B - 100 of 200 oldest in Texas

so this challenge is similar to GC73B98 but slightly different

I want the checker to produce a list of the currently oldest ACTIVE 200 caches in Texas. Finding any of these counts towards the challenge requirement of 100. Additionally, you'd get credit for any archived cache you found with a hidden date older or equal to the most recent of the 200 active caches.

So for example, if the hidden date of the 200th oldest active cache in Texas was 06-01-2002, I'd get credit for finding https://coord.info/GC2BB6 which is archived but hidden before that on 12-08-2001.

Hi there -

You can use: https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAFQ7B/82131

Note: It shows any of your archived finds in red. It could also produce slightly confusing output, if your find count on archived finds + active finds is >= 200 (although, I'd assume that's pretty unlikely with such high numbers). For example, if you've found all 200 oldest active, and (say) 50 archived, it would say you've found 250/200.

Test it out and let us know.

Reviewer told me the checker fails on his play name "Team Troglodyte". I confirmed, not sure what causes this.

Tried a couple more users, also fails for "The Outlaw" and Moosiegirl too. I bet it's a specific cache that they've all three found that is causing the issue.

UPDATE:
I think I have found the cause of the problem. The Checker is also picking up caches hidden by the user on those old dates, and then it dies when it can't find the "Found it" log for that user, which doesn't exist. for example, Team Troglodyte -> https://coord.info/GC3D1A, Moosiegirl -> https://coord.info/GC685F, The Outlaw -> https://coord.info/GC2CE, threelanes -> https://coord.info/GCD33

I think perhaps variable "owner_as_found" is set to true in the config, and changing it to false will fix the problem????

I've identified the problem (I think) in my previous post. Waiting for a reply from the script writer.

need support from bmuzzin apparently. Is he seeing this request for a change to his script?

How do I get the attention of bmuzzin on this? I can see he's working on other checkers, but has curiously not responded at all for help with his script on this one.

The normal way is to email people or write to them in the message center at GCCOM. Praying that people check a specific forum thread is not a good solution.

Here is an alternative checker from a different script https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAFQ7B/82580

Please test

Not quite. I should NOT be seeing archived caches I've not found in the list. Just the 200 oldest active caches + archived caches I found on or before the date of the 200th oldest cache. So In my case, I'd see a list of 208 caches with found dates for the ones I found (and I would have found all 8 of the archived ones. and a small point, can the archived ones have the strike thru format rather than just the coler blue.

Sorry this is how this checker works
The checker counts 200 caches so you will never get 208
The older active caches will always be in the score of the 200

If you want it different you will have to wait till bmuzzin finds time to update his checker
