Re: Strange checker output in 46903

I don't know where to post this, and not even, if there is a way to correct it, but...

I've found 2 caches before they were published. I looked it up, and in fact they were published far earlier, the owner had just changed the date to some later date. Is there any way to see this for the checker, that the found date is older then the publish date?

My recommendation would be to inform Geocaching HQ about the specific caches that are causing the issues here. There was a bug that forced people to change dates for a while and my experience is that Geocaching HQ generally corrects the dates on the caches that had their dates edited during that time if they are made aware of them.

For the checker itself I would contact the tagger, which in this case is the same as the CO. The script could probably be edited to fix this but are we sure that the CO wants that?

I manually changed the lines to some fitting caches, as I have more than enough in each of that years.
I asked one of the owners about (whom I know personally from events here in Bremen), and he had no idea why he changed that date, he didn't do it deliberately.

As long as nobody does this with GC40, or other older stuff, it's just a minor bug.

As I said, there was a bug previously that forced the date change when editing an older cache, the caches should be reported to Geocaching HQ since they are the only one that can restore the date.

"Contact HC"?
How? Where?
Reviewers, who are at least connected to caching? Or somebody far away in Seattle, who according to the ever more constrictions on real owners while allowing commercial pseudocachers nearly every breach of rules, probably don't care about such geegaw?
And usually the owners can change the date themselves, I did several times (but in the other direction, because of the hiatus between reviewer request and publish date. I never tried it the other way around, is it not possible?

Reviewers are not Geocaching HQ, I'm talking about the actual Geocaching HQ. As I said my experience is that they will correct the date. No, the edit is not possible to make by the owner or by reviewers.

Your opinions regarding reviewers and Geocaching HQ seems irrelevant to the issue so I will not comment on that.

They are insofar relevant, as I don't intend to contact them, especially not for such a minor issue, too many grudge because of the bullying of real owners while kowtowing to commercial pseudocachers.
Reviewers are part of the community, HC obviously is not.
So I let it be this way.
