[Resolved] GC6JZCK Holiday Challenge

Hi!!
I need a checker for a new challenge cache re: caching on holidays. To qualify, you need to find 100 or more caches on the following dates:
January 1
February 14
February 29
March 17
July 1
October 31
November 11
December 24, 25 and 26 as well as December 31
Thanks in advance for all of your assistance!! It is really appreciated!

Just to clarify: is this 100 on each date or 100 total between the dates? If the former, I can tag a checker easily. If the latter, there doesn't look like there's a script which does exactly what you want (Target's "Found on specific day of year" script looks closest, but it doesn't allow for a "total" parameter).

It is supposed to be the latter, ie. 100 in total. Can a checker be done then for it? I'm not in a rush. If not then I might have to modify the challenge. Thanks for looking at it!!

I'll get in touch with Target and ask him to add that parameter to his script. It should be easy enough to add, so I won't bother forking his script.

Parameter addend and output is brief

I assume that it is not necessary to have a found each day, 100 finds on one of the dates would be sufficient

The checker works but there is an extra day which is March 1. Can March 1 be removed? Thanks in advance!!!

Also, you are right about the finds . . . a cacher only needs a total of at least 100 and it is OK if some days are missed.

Thanks so much!! It works so this thread can be archived.

I just noticed one minor bug - if there's any date with no finds it marks it as "FAIL: 0 finds of 0 needed" and, looking at the source, it looks like it would set "ok" to false.

I should have read the code more carefully
fixed and you work on this config with 0 on one day

Hi!!

I tried the new checker but the total number of necessary finds is wrong. The requirement is for 100 finds in total for all of those days but the new checker only says 10 finds. Can you please fix that so the checker can match the requirements? Thanks in advance!!!

The new tag is not attached to your cache's GC code, it was just to confirm the script change works. Since I found it when checking myself and I don't have the required 100 finds, a lower limit was needed to confirm that I come up as qualifying even without any find on 1 July.

The tag linked earlier ( http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6JZCK/21082 ) is still the right one for your cache.

It is not allowed with challenger who go on dates. See paragraph 13 of the rules
"Restrictions on date of finds used for the challenge are not permitted."

My interpretation of that is that you cant say things like that only finds made after the publication of the challenge is allowed.

That guideline exited in the old rules and challenge with longing caches on hollidays etc was published.
And i have published a challenge where you need find on 300 days of the year regardless of year in a region a few days ago.
One of tow of the example what a challenge cache is in the first paragraph of the guidline is "find a cache every day of the calendar year" and that have limit the same way as this cache on finds on calendar dates
But i might be wrong.

I say that because I was not allowed to published a challenge that went on findings on special days of the year. The Christian holidays. This is due to Rule 13, which I included.
