[Resolved] GC8CW6X - Modification Possible for Jasmer Challenge Checker ????

this is an odd request so feel free to reject.

on my challenge, there are currently 12 people who are showing as possibly having not fulfilled the requirements. They actually did (or I believe they did but not all posted their qualifications when they posted their 'found it') but then they stopped trying to meet the requirements going forward. So could the checker be modified so that if the user has a 'found it log', to not check the months following that month????

So for example, user Czechsun logged a find on this challenge in April 2020. So for Czechsun, could the Checker exclude checking for months beginning May 2020 to the present? and so on for anyone with a 'found it log'. That would enable me to quickly see if anyone logged a find that may not actually qualify.

I asked bmuzzin (who maintains a more current version of the checker script) if this can be supported.

I also find it a bit annoying that checkers for open-end-challenges can turn red again after the challenge was already fulfilled and logged.

I think it would be possible, the data is all there. We know what date they found the particular cache, and which date all of their finds occurred on, and that doesn't change (unless they edit their found dates... But that's unlikely). I could modify my script to support that easily enough. I'm away until tomorrow, but I will see when I return. This would require a new checker tag though, since it would not be using the script you are currently using.

So... I've started to look at this, and I think the changes I made are fine... here's a new tag:
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8CW6X/117429

You put in the end-date gccode as the end_date.

If you're logging a find on this (and not just logging a write note), it means that you have qualified at whatever date you're running the checker. If the following month, you find no newly published cache, then the checker will still say you qualify, because the end month for hides is fixed at the date you found this challenge, which is the previous month. However, if you find caches that were published in the jasmer time period, you can then still qualify.

If you haven't logged a find on this cache, you will need to maintain/obtain your jasmer until you find this cache and log the find.

Test it out and let us know.

I like it. Iested it on three users who had passed when they logged a find but then no longer wualified and it said they pass. So please use this new checker

You need also to replace https://cdn2.project-gc.com/Images/Checker/44718 with https://cdn2.project-gc.com/Images/Checker/117429
