[Resolved] New checker for GC9WHZ4

[Resolved] New checker for GC9WHZ4
September 11, 2022 01:25PM
I originally submitted a request for this GC#, but the challenge was not allowed. I finally came up with a new idea, and need a new checker: https://coord.info/GC9WHZ4

The idea is to find 10 caches in 10 states with 10 different icons. It is similar to this one in Ontario: https://coord.info/GC7EXAQ,
but that one allows locationless caches and counts the new ones as being in Washington, so I don't want to clone it. Thanks,

[ Edit: Don't use this! ]

Please test.

Note: only US states included, no provinces. Locationless caches have been excluded as per your request.

Also, an administrator will have to disable the previous checker, since it cannot be deleted.

I don't think the other checker was ever created since someone from here said that I would have to get permission from the local reviewer before the checker was created.

It looks like you were trying to do a 2/2 D/T Average challenge and used the "clone" button to make a copy.

https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9WHZ4/69762

This causes issues in Project-GC to have multiple checkers associated with one challenge (I think it is the automated checker testing system that breaks.) Unfortunately I do not have the powers to delete the 2/2 Average checker. So options are either:

- Contact an administrator to have the 2/2 Average checker deleted/disabled (possibly vogelbird has this power.)
- Archive GC9WHZ4 without publishing it and create an entirely new cache page. I can move the 10 in 10 checker that I created to the new GC#. As long as GC9WHZ4 is never published the whole multiple checkers issue shouldn't happen.

There was a cloned checker https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9WHZ4/69762 which is now disabled

I archived the original cache and have created a new page with a new GC#. Here is a link for the new cache.
https://coord.info/GC9ZQ67

Thanks for your help.

Alright. An administrator ended up removing the old checker, so you didn't need to do this. But this is not a problem.

Link to [ Edit: Don't use this! ] on your cache page. Do not use any of the other links in the thread.

I had tested the checker before archiving the cache. . . we crossed messages. Anyway, the new cache is ready to submit as GC9ZQ67 but the link for the checker is still for the original GC# and it says that it can no longer be reached. I'm really sorry about the confusion.

Looks good, thank you.

I thought the above link worked but I tested it again, and it includes locationless caches. I don't want these counted since it gives people Washington state when they haven't been there. Thanks.

Oops, I made a typo. Give me five minutes.

So sorry, a bunch of careless errors on my part.

[ Edit: Don't use this! ]

This should exclude Locationless Caches. If you find anyone for which Locationless Caches still appear, please let me know their name so I can debug.

No, something is still wrong here. I will need more time to investigate.

I think there was an issue with the script that I was using. Please use

https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9ZQ67/71339

Hopefully this doesn't lead to any issues. As before, if you find anyone for which the checker reports a false positive, please let me know their username so I can debug.
