On 18 September, a Reviewer disabled this challenge cache listing because the owner could not demonstrate that enough geocachers qualified for the challenge requirements. There has been no activity on the listing since that date.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Volunteer Reviewer here. The written guidance given to Reviewers by Geocaching HQ (as of February 2017) is that no new 360 degree challenges can be published. This is a result of the "user defined polygon" concept.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
To clarify, the "written guidance to reviewers" applies worldwide. There is not one standard for Jasmer caches in Canada and a different one for Jasmer caches in other countries. It would be pointless for me to provide the requested link to the written guidance because you are not a reviewer, and you would just receive an error message.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Volunteer Reviewer here. Geocaching HQ's written guidance to reviewers is that challenges beyond a traditional / "single" Jasmer should not be published. There has been no change on this point since May 2016. Therefore, I don't see the use of creating or updating the challenge checkers requested here.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi, Volunteer Reviewer here. Under the 2016 challenge cache guidelines, challenge caches cannot be based upon trackables (owned or found). See Item 10, "Source of Criteria."by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Volunteer Reviewer here. You can have a challenge cache that requires a cache find in each of the 81 D/T grids -- ANY cache, whether or not part of your series. You cannot have a challenge cache that requires finding the 81 specific caches in your series. You could design a "series bonus cache" -- for example, by hiding portions of the coordinates in the containers for the seby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
sloth96 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > MaxB data is good for the contiguous part. I don't agree with that. As a reviewer I would consider this challenge to be covered by the short-term "hold" on contiguous county challenges.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The checker does not match the challenge criteria, which allow just a subset of available event types. The checker counts the event types that are not listed, such as Geocaching Block Party, Lost and Found Event, and Groundspeak Lost and Found Event.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
This design is not a positive challenge because the ratio requirement discourages people from finding other types of caches. As a Reviewer, I would suggest that you change the challenge requirement to a simple number, such as "find at least 200 mystery caches."by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
It's odd that a challenge based on cache types would not allow ALL cache types rather than only the listed ones. Nothing wrong with it, just odd.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I will happily take over for my valued volunteer colleague, OReviewer. My credentials: I have found around 120 challenge caches and I own or co-own three -- two of which are prohibited under the 2016 guideline changes. I still love challenges, which is why I post a lot here in an effort to make the new system work smoothly. I qualify for the "contiguous counties" challenge with a stby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
From studying my account's results, it appears that locationless caches are counted as finds in the county where the arbitrary posted coordinates for the locationless are found. For example, because I logged a find on "Yellow Jeep Fever," a locationless cache that paid tribute to an Arizona geocacher who drove a yellow jeep, my map shows that I've geocached in Phoenix Arizonaby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I thought the output looked great! Also, the results for my account correctly excluded locationless caches. I've found locationless caches with posted coordinates in Australia and the USA, which would have shown in the results if locationless had been included.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Agreed. Also, what happens if no cache is published in the area on a particular day? That happens for many reasons: reviewer busy/ traveling, bad weather means no caches were hidden, etc.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Note that new challenge caches of this type cannot be published. From the Challenge Cache article in the Help Center, under "Source of Criteria," the publishing Reviewer is listed as "Not Acceptable" under Item 10, "Source of Criteria."by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
In addition to the challenge cache owner posting to confirm that the checker matches their challenge cache criteria, it is always nice to say "thank you for your work." So, I will say that for them!by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The cache is already published, and there is no limitation to "USA and Canada" in the challenge cache description of requirements. Therefore, the checker does not match the challenge cache criteria.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
My account has found nine of the caches on the output list, but the checker only reports seven. That confused me, since the challenge requirement was five. (The two caches "crossed out" in the results, but found by me, are Lane Cove (New South Wales) and Queens land (Queensland).by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
You're correct as usual, vogelbird. Under Item 10 of the Help Center Challenge Cache Guidance, in the "Not Acceptable" column of the table, challenge cache criteria cannot be based on the identity of the cache owner.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
My apologies... I should have mentioned that I am a reviewer, posting under my player account. I'm not a script writer or a tagger.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Challenges based on "owned" caches cannot be published under the 2016 guidelines. If you limit the challenge requirements to "finds" only, it's fine.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Some of your idea can be salvaged by creating challenges based on the standard required for a certain badge, without mentioning the badge. For example, "Find 180 Virtual Caches" instead of "Earn the Diamond Badge for The Virtual Cacher" "Fill all 81 D/T Grids" instead of "Earn the Diamond Badge for The Matrix Cacher" etc. etc. You would need to avoidby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I'm a reviewer, so I can see your draft cache listing. For BINGO challenges, each of the squares must be an eligible challenge subject. At least three of your squares don't qualify. I'd recommend studying your BINGO card against the Challenge Cache guidelines, or discussing with your local Community Volunteer Reviewer, before having a checker programmed. If this challenge cache was submitted in my review territory, I would have two concerns. The first is the time restriction. Only being able to find a cache on January 14 that was hidden on a previous January 14 is a bit like a streak challenge that requires a find on February 29th - the challenge can only be found once every four years. Also, for rare placement dates (middle of the winter in aby The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)

Hi, I'm a reviewer. Sorry, but this challenge idea doesn't meet the listing guidelines for challenges. 1. Log content (including number of words) is not a valid criterion for a challenge. 2. BadgeGen badges are not valid criteria for a challenge.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Not to split hairs, since it's only one cache, but I'd classify Geocaching HQ as a physical geocache. The cache container sits in the front lobby of HQ. It's a huge treasure chest with a nice logbook. I was the seventh finder back in 2004, and I've visited the "cache" six times since then. :)by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
This is a grandfathered challenge. It might be better for you to keep the existing listing and original intent of that challenge, with an improved checker. If you start over again, you might run into issues under the revised 2016 guidelines for challenge caches.by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Are "10 Years" events, Giga Events, Groundspeak Lost and Found Event and Groundspeak Block Parties eligible or ineligible? (The answer could make a difference in whether someone can use Washington as a qualifying state.)by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
EDIT: comment irrelevant as this is a grandfathered challenge. Sorry!by The Leprechauns - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
