[Cancelled] Checker for GC71E9G (not published)
March 02, 2017 05:48PM
I'd like to request a challenge checker for my new challenge cache.

Requirements :
Check if the user has at least 100 DNF’s logged online.

Is this possible ?
Thx for your effort.

No this is not acceptable

Please read the guidelines on challenge caches http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=206#positiveCriteria

14. Positive Challenge Criteria - Not Acceptable
Not finding caches: design that limits or punishes any element of finding caches.

So, encouraging people to log a DNF (with all its advantages) when they are not able to find a cache is not acceptable.
It is not that I ask not to find caches, but that you prove that you also log DNF's when a cache is not found.

I'm sorry but this is what groundspeak has decided. But you must realise that it is not a challenge because everybody can drive along a hunderd caches and log them as a DNF just to get your challenge

I'm certainly not enter into discussion but what about:

10. Source of criteria - Acceptable
Challenge cache criteria must be based upon the type of log, not on the log content.

As far as i'm concerned, Didn't find it is one of the log types.

Thx anyway

Please read also the line above

Challenge cache criteria must be based upon caches with the seeker’s logs: Found it!, Attended, Webcam Photo Taken.

DNF is not mentioned as a seeker's log.

In addition to what vogelbird posted,
5. Standard for Criteria says:

Quote

Criteria may not be for a negative achievement such as DNF logs.

No problem, I will try to motivate people in another way to log their DNF's if a cache isn't found, so that the community can benefit from it.
