[Resolved] Checker for GC7FQ8J

Hi, I would like to put a three part altitude challenge as follows:

1) Find 10 caches with an elevation below 10 m.a.s.l. whose altitudes sum to no more than 25m. Those 10 finds have to include at least 6 caches of type traditional.

2) Find 10 caches with an elevation above 2000 m.a.s.l. whose altitudes sum to at least 25,000m. Those 10 finds again have to include at least 6 caches of type traditional.

3) Accumulate (between all your finds) at least 100,000 meters of travelled elevation.

Looking forward to any comments. Thanks.

This is oddly worded as a challenge condition. I found a cache at the Dead Sea in Israel at -1100 feet below sea level. So if I found nine caches having altitudes of nine feet above sea level, I would pass the checker?

Yes, why not? Finding a cache that far below sea level should count for something, right?

It is similar for the other part: Imagine someone had found a cache at 7000 meters above sea level (very few out there), then with another 9 caches barely above 2000 meters you qualify as your sum would be more than 25,000.

Is anybody working on this checker request?

Two and a half weeks since my first post but no confirmation, so I thought I better ask to see what the situation and/or difficulty is. Thanks in advance for any information.

new script is need for this challenge, so be patient

did you mean "traveled elevation" as sum of positive gain of altitude or sum of all absolute differences of altitudes?
i.e.
1st found 100m
2nd = 200m gain 100m
3rd = 150m negative gain, so 0
4th = 200m gain 50
traveled elevation=150

or
1st found 100m
2nd = 200m abs diff 100m
3rd = 150m abs diff 50
4th = 200m abs diff 50
traveled elevation=200

Hi jpavlik,

thanks for the reply/replies.

I meant "sum of all absolute differences" (going up and down both count).

Looking forward to the new script. Thanks.
