Re: Checkers not working correctly

The below are our Challenges relating to the National parks in UK.
The checkers are not returning correct results and may be faulty. Today we have had a request from a finder stating they have found quite a few caches in Snodonia National Park within the boundary but the checker returned a negative result. Image from their finds prove this. Just to say I saw this convo and when I checked the Snowdonia finds for me did appear ??

I have just ran the checker again for elephantemg83 and for Deepdiggingmole the caches listed in the post did not work for elephantemg83 which are his finds in the Snowdonia area. Deepdiggingmole has five finds and so for this cacher it does work but he has not found as far as I can see any of the caches listed in the post.

The problem is not with the large polygon but in the centre is a section (darker colour) which is not read. The checker exclude this section by the looks of it.

In about three weeks from now I think I have time to update the polygon

Having grown up in Blaenau Ffestiniog where the finds listed above are located, I've realised why the checker is not picking them up - the town, was left out when Snowdonia National Park boundaries were drawn up in 1951 because of its then thriving quarrying industry. Hope this helps.

Looking into this further - Of the 5 that were listed in the OP - I had found two of them but also have found 19 caches within the area that would appear to be the issue and this includes 4 different types - so I would have passed the Snowdonia criteria with that area alone - However having found nearly 1400 caches in N Wales (so approx 600 in the Snowdonia area) this checker was unlikely to have selected any within that specific area anyway.
Presumably the Cacher with the issue has only found caches within the Blaenau are and that is why they are having this problem.
I also note that on the output the area of Blaenau within the Snowdonia boundaries has its own boundary so it does look as if it is considered seperate

Okay so I will take it that the checkers are working correctly and there is a area in the centre of the park that is in fact not part of the National Park.
