Hi vogelbird,
Time for a new challenge project! :)
I'm working on a trail of (for the moment) 24 different matrix challenges.
The purpose is to make matrix challenges from different angles, e.g. by number, by type, by size, by date, by country and by attribute. There might be coming more, but this is the basic idea.
I made 24 new unpublished hides and for each of them, I'd like to have a checker created. I know this is quite a job, so please take your time! There's no hurry, I'm fully aware that I'm asking A LOT! I'm already very grateful that someone's willing to do this, so to start: thanks a lot in advance!!
Here are the different matrix challenges with their GC codes:
Challenge by number:
• Green! (1 full matrix) GCAGDBZ
• Some shades greener (26 full matrices) GCAGDC0
• The square matrix (81 full matrices) GCAGDC3
Challenge by type (a full matrix of only trads, only multi’s and so on):
• The traditional matrix challenge GCAGDC5
• The multi matrix challenge GCAGDC6
• The mystery matrix challenge GCAGDC7
• The letterbox matrix challenge GCAGDC8
• The wherigo matrix challenge GCAGDC9
• The event matrix challenge (as events are only D1, here the matrix is only 1/1 up to 1/5, so 9 different DT values) GCAGDCA
Challenge by size (a full matrix of only micro’s, smalls and so on):
• The micro matrix challenge GCAGDCD
• The small matrix challenge GCAGDCE
• The regular matrix challenge GCAGDCG
• The other matrix challenge GCAGDCJ
• The large matrix challenge GCAGDCM
Challenge by date:
• 1 matrix in 1 month (no matter which month, but e.g. a full matrix with only caches found in August, over all the years) GCAGDCN
• 3 matrices in 3 months GCAGDCQ
• 6 matrices in 6 months GCAGDCV
For this one, I know about this checker:
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAFE80/78305
This one checks on a full matrix for every single month, but I already tried some Belgians and I’m pretty sure I can’t find 10, so this one will be too high to get published…
Challenge by country:
• 1 full matrix in 1 single country (no matter which) GCAGDCW
• 2 full matrices in 2 different countries GCAGDCX
• 3 full matrices in 3 different countries GCAGDD0
Challenge by attribute:
• Full matrix of 1 attribute (no matter which) GCAGDD1
• Full matrix of 5 different attributes GCAGDD2
• Full matrix of 10 different attributes GCAGDD3
Another special one as it’s actually one single attribute, but it may also be considered as a specific type:
• The Challenge Matrix challenge (a full matrix with only challenges) GCAGDCC
If you’d need any further info on what I mean exactly regarding requirements, please get back to me!
I meet the requirements of every single one of these, but of course, I’m not sure whether I’ll find 10 locals who meet the requirements for all of these, but as long as I don’t have the checkers, I have no idea how to find out… so this will also take quite some time from my side. By the way, is there any way to run a script so that you can just see immediately whether 10 Belgians are meeting the requirements for a certain challenge?
All the best and thanks again,
Carl (Palarunca)

Great job!
Now my work starts to check whether I find 10 Belgians for every single one of these. Maybe I'll ask for some smaller adaptations later, but for now, it's just perfect!
Thanks a lot!!
By the way, is there any way to run a script so that you can just see immediately whether 10 Belgians are meeting the requirements for a certain challenge?

Hi vogelbird,
I'm checking other Belgians on some of the challenges I'd like to hide.
To be able to have a good view on how difficult the set requirements are, it would be very interesting to be able to see some more details on the checker results. E.g. for the countries: https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD0/82792
Would it possible to show how many matrix countries someone has? Now I can only see whether they meet or don't meet, but it would be nice if I could see how many exactly. Would it be possible to adapt this checker like this?
Thx in advance!

Challenge by attribute:
• Full matrix of 1 attribute (no matter which) GCAGDD1
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD1/82797
• Full matrix of 5 different attributes GCAGDD2
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD2/82798
• Full matrix of 10 different attributes GCAGDD3
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD3/82796
Another special one as it’s actually one single attribute, but it may also be considered as a specific type:
• The Challenge Matrix challenge (a full matrix with only challenges) GCAGDCC

You could make some fizzy's for regions
You have completed 6 regions
Drenthe (Netherlands)
Hauts-de-France (France)
Hainaut (Belgium)
Oost-Vlaanderen (Belgium)
Texas (United States)
Rheinland-Pfalz (Germany)
For you are missing 1 dt square
West-Vlaanderen (Belgium) (missing D1/T4.5)
Antwerpen (Belgium) (missing D4/T4.5)

Hi vogelbird,
After some research of the Belgian top DT loopers, I'll change the 3 attribute fizzy challenges to 5/15/25 (instead of 1/5/10 as I thought first).
These were the original gc's and checkers:
• Full matrix of 1 attribute (no matter which) GCAGDD1
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD1/82797
• Full matrix of 5 different attributes GCAGDD2
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD2/82798
• Full matrix of 10 different attributes GCAGDD3
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD3/82796
So these will become:
Challenge by attribute:
• Full matrix of 5 different attributes GCAGDD1
• Full matrix of 15 different attributes GCAGDD2
• Full matrix of 25 different attributes GCAGDD3
Could you please adapt the checkers to these new set requirements?
Thx a lot in advance!

Hi vogelbird,
The challenges RubyShoos are great variants as well.
I can clone the tags for the seasons and the months, but for the days, the example checker includes that only founds in the UK count. Could you please make new checkers for my hides including all caches found on every single day of the week?
Monday Fizzy GCAGWH7
Tuesday Fizzy GCAGWHB
Wednesday Fizzy GCAGWHF
Thursday Fizzy GCAGWHG
Friday Fizzy GCAGWHK
Saturday Fizzy GCAGWHM
Sunday Fizzy GCAGWHT
Thanks!

• 3 full matrices in 3 different countries GCAGDD0
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD0/82792
Also after checking the top Belgian DT loopers, I'll change the 3rd one of this series into 4 in 4.
So could you also please adapt this checker to 4 in 4?
This one will then become:
• 4 full matrices in 4 different countries GCAGDD0
Thx!

Hi again vogelbird,
I made some new listings for more challenge hides. (We're almost there) :)
GCAGQWY Matrix Challenge Ave (by type) Triple Traditional (so having 3 full matrices with only traditionals)
GCAGQWZ Matrix Challenge Ave (by type) Quintuple Trad (idem for 5)
GCAGQX2 Matrix Challenge Ave (by type) Quintuple Mystery (having 5 full matrices with only mysteries)
GCAGQX3 Matrix Challenge Ave (by type) Decuple Mystery (idem for 10)
Then (following your advice) I made 3 listings for favourite fizzy's:
GCAGRVQ Matrix Challenge Ave (by favos) 250 in each cell
GCAGRVT Matrix Challenge Ave (by favos) 500 in each cell
GCAGRVV Matrix Challenge Ave (by favos) 1000 in each cell
And the last, I also made 3 listings for fizzy challenges by found day of the week:
GCAGRW0 Matrix Challenge Ave (by found day) 1 in 1 Day! (so having a full matrix with caches only found on e.g. Monday)
GCAGRW1 Matrix Challenge Ave (by found day) 4 Days/Week! (a full matrix on each of 4 different days of the week)
GCAGRW3 Matrix Challenge Ave (by found day) 7 Days/Week! (a full matrix, found on every single day/week)
May I please ask (again) to make checkers for these? :)
As for the counties/provinces/regions in Belgium, in Europe and in the world, I don't know you what kind of challenge I could make exactly? Then the World challenge would be the easiest or the hardest one? It depends on what you ask exactly of course... maybe you have some examples of similar checkers to have a look so that I could test with the top DT Belgian loopers what I'd do exactly?
Then one last one, as I don't have any challenges for earthcaches nor virtuals, could you make a checker for a half matrix? So at least 41/81 different ratings found? Or do you have one for a complete EC and virtual matrix? Then, again, I I could check Belgians top DT loopers and see what's possible.
Thx so much in advance, again!

Perfect!
Thx!!
As for my other last 2 fizzy variant questions (copy/paste below), do I have to make hides again or do you have test checkers available for these?

For regions you could use test checker https://project-gc.com/Challenges//83201
World you have 6 different regions
Europe you have 5 different regions
Belgium you have 2 different regions
Checker for a half matrix

For this one, I just see that in the 'tag comment' of the checker, it says:
Tag commentaar: 4 full matrices in 3 different countries
The checker itself is correct for 4 in 4, but can you please change the comment into:
4 full matrices in 4 different countries
Thx!

Just stumbled across this thread with great interest - many of these I have achieved or am actively working on, so I look forward to hopping over the channel when these become a reality (and I'm seriously lacking on my Belgian DT grid, so they might help towards that too!).
In the UK, we have seasons: complete a grid in Spring (Mar, Apr, May) Summer (Jun, Jul, Aug), Autumn (etc), Winter
And the days of the week grids, so rather than an unspecified 4 days or 7 days of the week, actually having to complete a Monday grid, etc.
These challenges are really great for when your main grid does not hold the same allure it once did, so thank you for this project - it looks like an exciting one!

Summer Fizzy (20 June until 21 September) GCAGWNH
Autumn Fizzy (22 September until 20 December) GCAGWNJ
Winter Fizzy (21 December until 19 March) GCAGWNK
No problem for the matrix, looks great like this as well.
Also this:
The challenges RubyShoos are great variants as well.
I can clone the tags for the months, but for the days, the example checker includes that only founds in the UK count. Could you please make new checkers for my hides including all caches found on every single day of the week?
Monday Fizzy GCAGWH7
Tuesday Fizzy GCAGWHB
Wednesday Fizzy GCAGWHF
Thursday Fizzy GCAGWHG
Friday Fizzy GCAGWHK
Saturday Fizzy GCAGWHM
Sunday Fizzy GCAGWHT
Thanks!
And then one last small remark if you don't mind for this one:

Hi again vogelbird,
Last post for today :)
I also made 4 new hides for fizzy's by season.
The only thing I'd like to adapt in comparison to the ones RubyShoos proposed is that the found dates must be the actual exact dates of the seasons. So e.g. for winter, in his checker it is finds in December, January and February whereas I'd like to make a checker where it's from 20 December until 20 March.
I looked up the exact dates for 2024 (the year this series will get published). Here the gc codes:
Spring Fizzy GCAGWNF (20 March until 19 June)
Summer Fizzy (20 June until 21 September)
Autumn Fizzy (22 September until 20 December)
Winter Fizzy (21 December until 19 March)
Could you please make checkers for these?
Thanks so much again!

Spring https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGWNF/83308
I can not use the matrix because of the date restrictions

Hi vogelbird,
I tested the possibility to make the 50% matrix challenge for virtuals, but there are not enough Belgians who have 41 cells filled. I'll have to go for 33%, 27/81 cells.
Could you please adapt the checker for GCAGWPN?
Matrix Challenge Ave (by type) Virtual 33% Fizzy
Thanks a lot!

Thx a lot!

Also for the large, I don't have enough Belgians who completed their large matrix, 75% (or 61/81 cells) would do though!
Could you please adapt the checker for this one as well?

Matrix Challenge Ave (by size) Large 75% Fizzy
Thx!!

Hi vogelbird,
Another idea for a matrix challenge is one based on the age/hidden date of found caches.
So it means that you need to fill a complete matrix with caches that are minimum e.g. 10 or 5 years old. I got this idea from a friend as in the renewed project-gc stats page you can see the oldest cache found per type, but also you see the age (in days) of the oldest per matrix cell. Curious if it's something we'll get published...
I made 2 more listings for these:
GCAHBGY (10 year old matrix challenge)
GCAHBH0 (5 year old matrix challenge)
Could you please make checkers for these?
Thanks a lot in advance again!!

After a first review, I got the remark that this checker seems to be disabled?
Can you have a look to get this fixed? Thanks!

It looks like you made two similar tags and the latter got automaticly deleted
2023-11-27 10:25:58 UTC (1) Palarunca cloned tag 72130 into 83289 using GCAGWK2
2023-11-27 10:25:57 UTC (1) Palarunca cloned tag 72130 into 83288 using GCAGWK2
You need to use https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGWK2/83288 which is enabled

Hi vogelbird,
After new review info, I'll change GCAGDD1.
https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCAGDD1/82797
Can you please adapt the checker for this one from 5 to 10 different attributes required?
Thx!
