Hello challenge checker gurus, Please make me a challenge checker for GC9VKN8. The requirements of the challenge are to find at least one of each of the following types of geocache, within the boundaries of the ACT, Australia: Traditional Multi Unknown. That's a total of just three caches, but they have to be of three specific types and they have to be in the ACT. Thanks, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hello challenge checker gurus, Please make me a challenge checker for GC9VKN5. The requirements of the challenge are to find at least one of each of the following types of geocache, within the boundaries of the ACT, Australia: Virtual Wherigo Earthcache. That's a total of just three caches, but they have to be of three specific types and they have to be in the ACT. Thanks, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Awesome challenge Loci. Looking forward to this one coming out. Cheers, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thanks. I've tested it again and it is working as expected. Thanks for making the changes.by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hey vogelbird and GreyHams, Wow, I thought I knew a lot about challenge cache guidelines, but I didn't know about that one. Could you please remove the 24 caches by 24 different hiders criterion, and add 107 attributes (positive and negative) as the new criterion. Thanks, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That's working perfectly now. Thanks for the quick response and for the quick fix.by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Very close to what I want. One of the criteria was 41 or more (out of 81) of the challenge D/T grid (rather than the usual D/T grid. Is there a checker for this? If you can't do 41 or more for the challenge D/T grid, could make it 80 or more for the normal grid. Apart from that, the number of counties in NSW looks a bit high when I run the checker for myself. Is it the checker limited to Nby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there challenge checker volunteers, I'd like to request a checker that has several criteria for an 'all-rounded cacher' challenge: Find at least 576 caches such that you have found at least 24 caches by at least 24 different hiders. Fill in at least half of your challenge D/T grid (that is, at least 41 out of 81 on challenge caches only) Find caches in at least 55 differentby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi team novo and vogelbird, Just a few thoughts for the mix: I can think of challenges that have been published since the moratorium on challenge caches was lifted, where this exact type of challenge was permitted. For example: GC80KDJ team novo is raising the bar very high with a average D+T greater than or equal to 5.0, but personally I would welcome such a challenge. Having said that, fromby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Hey there Project-GC challenge checker makers, I would like to request a checker for GC8YDTJ. The criteria are: Find unknown caches (also known as mystery caches or puzzle caches), in At least three Australian local government areas (LGAs). That's a total of at least three unknown (mystery) caches, spread across at least three counties. It's meant to be an easy challenge thatby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hey, there's a problem with the checker which I didn't see until now. The GC code for the cache is GC8YDTJ but the GC code in the checker is for some other cache. As a result the reviewer has rejected this cache. Is this easy to fix? The GC code has to be GC8YDTJ in the URL path. Do I need to submit a separate request via forum 8? Regards, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hey vogelbird, That's very good indeed. I tested the checker against several cachers, local and international, and got the results I expected. Thank you very much for your quick response. Feel free to move this thread to forum 11 because it's 100% complete! Regards, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi Project-GC challenge checker volunteers, I would like to request a challenge checker for GC8YDTJ, which has the following parameters: At least one unknown cache in three (3) Australian Local Government Areas (equivalent to counties) In other words, find a total of three caches of the unknown type, spread across at least three Australian counties. That's it. This challenge is intendedby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That seems to work perfectly. I've tested it using the names of a number of cachers, and it's given me the expected result every time. Thanks!by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi challenge checker volunteers, Could I have a checker made for GC8EGAB please: Attend five mega events, anywhere in the world. (Giga events not included. Mega events only.) Thanks, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I've tested this checker, and it seems to be exactly what I wanted. Feel free to move this to forum 11.by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That was super-quick. It seems to be working now. Thanks very much!by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
And having just checked for local cachers who qualify, I think the number 60 is too high. I anticipate the reviewer won't let it the cache get published because fewer than ten people in my area qualify. Please lower the pass numbers to 30 and 30. Thanks, Maxby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi pieterix, Thanks for the quick turnaround. I tested the checker and I think there's a small misunderstanding. I think the current checker tests for difficulty, not terrain. Would it be possible for the checker to test for terrain 4.5 and terrain 5.0? Thanks, Maxby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there challenge checker writers, I'd like you to create a checker for me. Conditions to be met are: 60 terrain 4.5 caches AND 60 terrain 5.0 caches That's a total of 120 caches required to meet the challenge. Caches can be of any type, anywhere in the world. It doesn't matter what the difficulty level is, so long as the totals for the terrain 4.5 and 5.0 columns are bothby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
People in the ACT will have an advantage here as it's one big county with about 3500 caches! But a great idea for a challenge, Rod.by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I've looked at the updated output and it's great. Thanks everyone for making this happen fast. (And Bill if you want to do a SFE challenge over your way based on this idea - go for it!) Regards, Maxby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thanks PattuX. That seems to be working well. Now I just need to get the cache published. Cheers, Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thanks! I tested it using several cachers that I know and it's amazing how many passed easily. The script worked as expected, but it seems like my challenge is not very challenging after all. How hard would it be to bump up the number of D/T cells to 320 instead of 250? That would make it more of a challenge. Thanks, Maxby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi Project-GC challenge checker people, I was inspired by GC5D8V4 to make a challenge cache, where cachers have to fill 250 cells across the eight DT grids (one DT grid for each state and territory). For example, I have filled the DT grids for both ACT and NSW, which gives me 162 (2x81) cells. I'm also close to fillign the DT grid for Victoria, with 74 out of 81 DT combos in my DT grid forby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That seems to work perfectly. I tested it using the names of geocachers I know, and got the results I was expecting. I just hope the reviewer lets it through. Thanks again for the speedy turnaround on this! Max (ZQX)by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi again challenge checker experts, I've deployed another challenge cache and I would like to request a checker. Here are the parameters of the challenge: Find at least 600 caches, such that in your DT grid the total number of finds in the D3 row is greater than or equal to 600, and total number of finds in the T3 column is greater than or equal to 600. Caches in the 3/3 square count towby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Cool that seems to work. There are more people who qualify and more who are close. I'm happy with the checker now. Thanks for your help pieterix.by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Wow! That was superfast. I'll just check it now.by ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Okay. No major problem with the duplicates. But I've struck another problem. After some investigation, I have found that very few people in my area qualify for this challenge, which makes it unlikely that the reviewer will publish it. Could you lower the number of caches required to a total of 80 please. That way a lot more people will qualify, and I can probably persuade the reviewer thatby ZQX - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
