Re: Double Jasmer challenge

Would like to create a challenge cache with the requirement that:

the cacher must have found at least 2 caches in every month from may 2000 to the end of the preceding month or preceding year. No finds required in current period (month or year). You, the writer, can decide which cutoff to use month or year.

The intended cache is

GC6XVDF.

the requirement there stated is based on the preceding month, but if easier or more logical to use the preceding year, I will rewrite the requirement before submitting for publishing.

Works fine. The result line at the top of the list of months needs to be corrected. In December 2016 the checker requires that there be 2 finds in 199 months not 200. December 2016, the current month, is exempt.

I checked several cachers using your checker and found that some were not qualifying for the 2016 period because of not having 2 caches in one or more of the recent months in 2016. That is not the purpose of the challenge. Would it be difficult to change the checker to exclude the current month and the 2 preceding months -- in DEC, the months of Oct, Nov, Dec would be exempt?

Answer: This is problem whichis anchored in the output tekst of the script. For this only the script writer can do something.

Answer: This is not possible, the script can only be set at the current or preceding month

The Leprechauns remark has a point.
"A challenge cache needs to appeal to and be attainable by a reasonable number of cachers"
"Challenge cache owners must demonstrate that there are plenty of qualifying caches to meet the challenge at the time of publication.".

Sure! The guidance is grounded in numbered articles 4 and 5 of the Help Center's Challenge Cache guidance.

I can confirm that what The Leprechauns said. HQ has told us not to publish anything above a single Jasmer for the reasons vogelbird quoted.

We've enjoyed finding the old caches and have put some effort into this effort. It took us 4 years to do it and took us to lots of interesting places.
OK. I understand no Double Jasmer. How about a more limited challenge such as finding 2 caches for each of the first 2 years , 2000 and 2001?
