While I applaud trying to come up with creative challenges, I don't see how this one would be acceptable. It violates a specific example of rule #10 - "Requiring cachers to log caches that are disabled or archived." You're saying that you need to have a log on an archived cache, and that you be the only person that logged it. While I think MANY of the challenge rules are...by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Yes, you are again correct, it doesn't check overlaps in the fizzies for the separate states. I've removed the tag, because I think this script also won't be able to perform the correct check without significant changes. I'll make a one-off script for this one, because obviously it's not so easy to tag an existing script.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Look what I did without even making a new script! (I did edit it slightly, so it prints out the region filter for with the fizzy table, otherwise the output is really difficult to understand). https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCA3K2C/74316 Note, this doesn't output the gccodes for the fizzies as you requested, just the number of entries you have in each state (and shows their fizzy grby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Okay, I think I finally found the applicable bug in the script. I've retagged the challenge, so you need 30 DTs of LBs, 30 DTs of Wherigos, and 21 spaces of either LBs or Wherigos (making a total of 81, so you require a full fizzy of LBs+WIGs). I had originally tagged it using multiple fizzy tests, but it looks like there still might be a bug there, as this script hasn't ever been usedby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I'll do it... if nobody beats it to me. New scripts take a little more time than just a re-tag, so please be patient.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Sorry, my fault... reading isn't always my strong suit. This script probably can't be used then, at least not without some extension, as it only does "specific" criteria checking. I think vogelbird is right, you'll probably need a custom script for this one.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I am working on fixing my script that does a generic fizzy checker, and it sounds like with the fixes, it would be good to use for this request. The bug that exists doesn't do the complete-rest-of-the-fizzy portion (because the DT spots chosen for the 'states' portion also satisfy the 'general' fizzy criteria, and that confuses things). Regardless, the tag without the comby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I think I see the problem now, although it's not immediately clear to me how to fix it (easily). I'll have a think on it and get back to you.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Could you give me the name of the person you're testing? I tried a few users who don't pass (eg. somebody with zero finds, and somebody with a few LBs + WIGs), and they seem to work (ie. no error).by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
So many bugs, so little time... :) There was a type-o in the script, causing the AND/OR sub-conditions to always evaluate to true, when they shouldn't have. I think you'll find it works now... try again and let us know.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
So yes, I've checked it out, and we don't have the data to make an accurate checker for this one. The best we could do is definitively pass someone, if caches they have found have *currently* have 50 finds or less (and obviously past the 5 years since published threshold). But, since there's no way to figure out which finder number you were, if a cache has more than 50 finds, wby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I have modified my fizzy mixed-bag checker, such that you can specify and/or/not operations for the criteria, and added a flag, so that a criteria is not allowed to be satisfied by finds in other DTs. I've tagged it for this challenge, so that you need 30 LBs, 30 WIGs, and 21 LBs or WIGs (which don't overlap). Here's the checker: https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC84J9E/74117by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Not sure we have access to other finders on a particular cache with the API. I'm out for a few weeks, I'll take a look when I return, although my initial thought is that it's not possible.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Even if they set their privacy settings on PGC to be private, the data is still all public on geocaching.com. You can go to any geocache page, and find a user's log. PGC just scrapes all that information and compiles it into a nice database. Also, since many other scripts exist that don't do this, it's easy for somebody trying to get information about a user to just run a script thby bmuzzin - Miscellaneous
I couldn't leave this one alone... (don't tell my boss): https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC3YBQW/73707 I have checked against all finders in the last few years, and it agrees with their results. Not necessarily exactly the finds that they chose for their qualifiers, but that those that said they passed did according to the script (except "brobin80", who has 1 find!!) It's giving me some weird results right now, seems like "~Purple" (for example) is not counting as a find for purple. I will take a look at fixing it up tonight.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Well, I suppose that's a reasonable interpretation of the rule. It's a little frustrating that the rules are so restrictive, as it allows for very little creativity in the challenges that can be made. Makes me wish I was living in the old wild west of challenges... Those checkers are sure more fun to write. I understand the reasoning for some of the rules, but this one in particularby bmuzzin - Miscellaneous
Give those responses, I think a checker for this script is not possible. ie. If Lab caches are allowed, then we don't have the data to check. Also, if they're allowing exemptions for unknown caches whose finals are within the county, but posted outside, then we also can't check that. So, can we close this request?by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
http://coord.info/GCA2MD0 This challenge that was recently published in my area, and I found it. When I found it, unbeknownst to me, it had been disabled (but, the cache was in fine shape). This challenge has now been archived. Okay, I've contacted them, asking if the approximation is acceptable, or, if he'd prefer not to have a checker at all. So, I guess we'll see what they say... they seem reasonably active still.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I think this could be done without polygons, using a (small) assumption? i.e. If we assume that the highways run perfectly straight through the two concentric circles (which, is probably reasonable on quick inspection, as they have only 3 miles to travel and highways are generally straight), we can explicitly define the two intersection points of each highway and the circles, and if any find is wby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
@vogelbird - yes, I just cut and pasted them from that link. Are they incorrect? They're too big to be a tag, so they're in the script source. Since this is grandfathered, little chance this script would be reused.by bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
It's only 6 years later :) https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC3TVEH/73597 Note that I've approximated the home country as the country with the most finds. Also, it's CPU intensive to find the very long country names, unless you have a very large number of country finds. The script will timeout in 45 seconds and return its progress, although, there are many short country naby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
This still seems not completely thought out... Every month could potentially have 5 Sundays. Do you require all 5 to qualify? If not, then, if you found the first 4 in a month that has 5, that would still "qualify", even though you didn't have all the Sundays in that month, which is weird. In fact, even February can if it's a leap year (this happened in 2004, and will happen aby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Okay - 1. I've modified the script to put slashes between the fields 2. I've made it list all instances that you pass on (so eg. for you, it lists the two you cited), and also will list if you have more than 12 regions for the particular combo. 3. I've made it also print the country, date found and cache name for the qualifiers. 4. For the "failed" example, when I tby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The "you passed the challenge" part was from the original script. Since the multi-test script does the "OK" thing before the criteria, it seems redundant, so I've removed that. Also, instead of saying row/column, it says whatever the axis field is now. So, here's the new output, which seems a little clearer: (https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=bmuzzin) has usedby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
In my extended version of the SameX / DifferentY script, you can make SameX a list, and then you need all the things in the list to be the same. So, this actually doesn't need a new script! I just wrote a script that does checks on an X/Y grid... so I embedded it into my modified version of the Multi-test script... added a few extra parameters/fixes, and viola: https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCA2KRJ/73404 Note: If you have a type/size with a year that's incomplete, it shows cells where you have a find in yellow - if you pass the year with that type/size, it shows them inby bmuzzin - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
