Can we remove this post as a duplicate of the other? (I am aware of that the forum didn't show posts properly the last hours, due to the database maintenance)by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
You should run this by your reviewer first. In my opinion, you are breaking two of the guidelines. 1) A challenge can not be based on a percent of finds in a county, it has to be a fixed number. 2) You can not exclude Challenges since that is a cache named attribute only. I am less certain about this on, first because it's an exclusion. But I got denied publishing a "meta challenge&by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
Ah, I get it now. Maybe it was just me who didn't understand it before. Technically it's not a problem. I don't think there is a (simple) script ready that works for this. Either it has be one of those very generic that, I don't know them very well, or a new has to be created. I am sure someone will help you.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I have read this multiple times, including the posts here. I don't really understand what the challenge is. I am afraid you are not getting the response you should due to that. An example might help.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I have discussions with Target about this. Two new API methods has been implemented to handle this, but we both felt that it would be unlikely that a challenge like this would be published. It turned out we were right, the reviewer did not want to publish the challenge that caused this topic. The API methods still exists, but are not in the documentation yet. There are old challenges that tby magma1447 - Method requests
While not experiencing exactly the same issue, we couldn't get the download source to work either. A fix has been made in our development environment, and we hope for a release later today.by magma1447 - Miscellaneous
Just a note of Australian polygons at Project-GC. Project-GC uses official government data from http://www.census.gov/geo/maps-data/data/tiger-line.html for Australia. It hopefully don't get more accurate than that. If the geocaches has other information at Geocaching.com, Google Maps and so on, it's very likely to be wrong in those ends. Google Maps is almost always wrong, just aby magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
The 360-challenge checkers are very special. To get a fully featured checker for those you will need to contact Project-GC's support. There was recently added a special note about them in the READ FIRST in this forum. The support team will need to know: * The center point (N39º 20.738, W077º 08.118) * The area (Maryland) The usual case for such challenge to work is that it requires 8by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
FYI, I am currently working on a new related function. "Clone tag". It will be yet another button when viewing a checker page. It will open a modal and ask for a GC-Code. The tag will then be clone, with the exact same configuration, but with the new GC-Code. This should make it very easy for users to add tags themselves for very simple challenges that exists elsewhere. There willby magma1447 - Checker news
The checker has no cache-name. It will use the name of the GC-Code you provided once Project-GC finds the geocache. The counters can not be reset. You will notice that all challenges being published in the future will have a few green and red. It's likely the reviewers will run a few names in them.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
It is very easy to create such challenge checkers. But those creating them would strongly prefer if you provide the GC-Codes first. You can create your challenges without adding them into the review queue.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
75% of an area is not allowed with the new guidelines. But I assume it would be ok if it's an optional way of completing the challenge and that an allowed way (100 finds) is provided as well. Creating a checker for 100 finds in a specific region is easy. Creating a checker for 100 finds OR 75% probably requires some developing, I don't think there is a script ready for that. Both mine and Targets should give you that. You can test-run them on different users, those you know fulfill and those you know don't. Our outputs probably differ, choose the one you prefer.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
If the polygons exists in for example OSM, it's doable, but probably quite a lot of work. USA also has the Tiger database which is free. I am unsure if it has city level data though. But again, it might be quite a lot of work. But it all comes down to that the CO has to define exactly what a city is (where the borders are). It's great that you provided a list of names though. http://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC6JG65/20709 should cover that if I didn't misunderstand it. For the 110 caches I have logged with the most favorite points, anywhere in the world, the sum of FP needs to be >= 4500?by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)

You can still register the geocache without adding it to the review queue. In that way a proper tag can be created. You are actually missing a part, which is the very reason for this topic. Quoting from https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2016/05/return-of-challenge-caches/ QuoteWe are not permitting Lab Cache challenges because Lab Caches are temporary, are generally only available to those who attend Mega- or Giga-Events, are not associated with Found It logs, and are not completely integrated into Geocachinby magma1447 - Checker news

If you are thinking about a new challenge, I doubt that you will be allowed to publish a challenge that may only be logged on a certain date.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (impossible)
I made an extremely simple script today, and it covers surprisingly many of the challenges on my list to tag. It takes two input parameters: minFinds: (int) Number of finds required for an ok. filter: (array) A filter that is passed straight into GetFinds() By just passing a config straight into GetFinds() one can very easily create tags for number of finds with specific difficulty, terraby magma1447 - Script development
It will be done at Project-GC. The FAQ will be updated, but I also hope that it will be obvious where and how it's done once we get that far. Expect it to take a few weeks after the moratorium is lifted before we are ready to accept new script writers. Meanwhile one has to rely on those already having access.by magma1447 - Miscellaneous
0-24, 25-49 doesn't make sense to me, probably because my mind is one of a programmer. If I log a geocache at 24.2 meters height, then that would not qualify me for any of the above, as I read it. (just my two cents)by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I forgot to mention that we will open up tagging for others as well at some point. It's likely that one will have to request access for it and then go through some form of simple test. I don't have any details yet, but I imagine something like "Tag this script to require 100 finds in Sweden and 50 mystery finds in Denmark".by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
It's fine to post a request here about it. The tagging was formerly possible for everyone, but with all the added publicity we have removed that ability from those that hadn't already created tags. The reason is that the system can fairly fast be full of faulty tags if someone with the wrong intentions starts tagging, or someone who doesn't understand it. Me and Target just had a short discussion off the forum. Another issue you could hear of is that it doesn't work for some users. If they haven't added home coordinates at Geocaching.com, it will obviously fail as well, since Project-GC then doesn't have them either. I assume you are aware of that it's fairly easy to cheat by moving home coordinates. But that's lifeby magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I should know since I have built it, but I do not think that one has to wait for 7 days. The Profile stats should render straight away, as long as there isn't a cached version, which could exist if someone else has viewed the Profile stats lately. If there is a cached version, it's fairly recent data anyway (<= 7 days). One could say that this is a case that needs some improvemby magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
To use the checker, they must authenticate with Project-GC, which is what is needed. So normally it's not a problem. It's a problem for user X to run the checker for user Y if user Y never authenticated with Project-GC though.by magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Smart thinking about the BadgeGen data, didn't realize that. Using saved/cached results is another topic. There are many ways that could be implemented in the future, if needed. Public/private keys being one of the better and more advanced for example. But, have the cache owner being able to verify by other means than trusting the user isn't the usual case for most challenges todaby magma1447 - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
