Thanks for making the changes but after seeing the checker output, I think my preference would be to use the format of the GC9P0GZ checker, assuming it's not too much trouble, and assuming that checker can be adapted to be used for the other challenge GCA4QC6 as well. So please let me know if it's possible. I know your time is precious and I can appreciate that you are doing all thisby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I have some feedback about this checker as well. I've added the details to my reply of the other checker though. Is it better to leave this request open or should the 2 requests be combined into that other thread? I don't mind either way but I don't know what workflow processes work best for you. Please let me know. Thanks.by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi again - As noted in my reply to the GCA4QC6 post, these comments may be applicable to it as well. Thank you for extending the script. I'm happy to see the functionality is working great from what I can tell. I manually did the calculations for this challenge on my own profile and it's nice to see the numbers match (though I just barely qualify for this challenge :-b ). Thank you for creating the checker. It appears to be working (woo hoo!) but the results seem high for me though. It appears the checker may be counting attributes from events. Could you please confirm if all events (and the cacher's own caches) are excluded from this checker as per my original request above? Could you please look at my reply to my other GC9WT1A checker request as well?by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thank you for the quick turnaround. I've tested the checker and it's working as expected. I'm not sure if you can answer this question for me or if I need to reach out to the script writer about it as well but I found an interesting result with one of the tests I ran. This may be by design or it could be a bug. Or this could open up an even bigger conversation about special cby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi again. Hopefully this should be my last checker request for a while now. Could I please get a checker built for GCA5GCF? The challenge is to find 8 different cache types in each of 5 Canadian provinces or territories. It does not have to be the same 8 cache types across all 5 regions either, just any 8 cache types in each region. As usual, locationless caches, benchmarks, and lab cachby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thanks for the reply, vogelbird. No worries. Like I said, it was just a nice to have. Please close this request as completed then. Thank you for all your help again.by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
As noted in my previous post, this checker request and the last one are related. This checker request is for GCA4QC6, the next challenge in my series of existing similar challenge caches GC9D25A and GC9D25D. Those challenges are based on hidden date just like this new one. But instead of finding unique cache types or sizes in each hidden month/year square, to qualify for this new challenge,by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
This checker request and my next one are related so I apologize now if I repeat myself too much between the 2 posts. Could I please get a checker created for the challenge cache GC9WT1A which is the next in my series of existing similar challenge caches GC8ZZVH and GC9CEQ0? Those challenges are based on the Difficulty/Terrain grid as will this new one. But instead of finding unique cache typby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Tested and it appears to be working great with the output as I requested. Thank you very much for the quick turnaround. I do have a (hopefully) small 'nice to have' to ask for though. No pressure here; please feel free to say no if it is not possible or if it's too much work to do. This is definitely not critical for the checker. I think I've just been spoiled here by aby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi again, could I please get a checker built for my new challenge GCA4QBC? This new challenge is similar to my existing challenge GC9JYR0 but instead of filling the 2 calendars (365 found days and hidden dates) with traditional caches, I would like to fill both calendars with micro sized caches now. Could you please create this new checker for micros? I like the checker from GC9JYR0 and theby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Thank you for being so accommodating and making all those changes. I've ran the checker a few more times and everything looks great. I checked another 'failed' cacher and Trad/Micro/1.5/1.5 does show up for them so perhaps you are right, that first 'failed' cacher I tested hasn't find aTrad/Micro/1.5/1.5 in both provinces. Hi again - I didn't know if I should edit my previous post or start a new one. I started a new one. I was too busy looking at the table that I didn't see the contents of the example log box. Wow! The checker looks great and works exactly as requested. Thank you! And thank you for the feedback about the rare cache types. I mainly left them in this challenge because it was just easier for me, but also for "futureproofing" purposes and in case there are any Charter members out there who were around in the heydays when some of those types were more common. Who knows? Maby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Yes! The checker appears to be working and bringing back the correct results. Thank you! I've tested it on a few people and I have some cosmetic changes to ask for though. Hopefully they are just cosmetic anyways. If these can not be accommodated, I'm just happy the checker works and we can leave it at that. :-) The output seems to imply the "same" list is "type aby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi again - Could I please get a checker built for this challenge as well? I've seen this as 2 separate challenges before but I want to combine them into one challenge (which I don't think I've seen). For this challenge, a cacher must have found all 7 cache sizes in every month of the year, and 7 cache types in every month as well (excluding virtual, benchmarks, and lab caches).by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there again. I'm looking for some help to create a checker that verifies if a cacher has found "identical" caches in 12 different regions. "Identical" meaning all the caches must be the same type and size and with the same difficulty and terrain levels. And a region is defined as any Canadian province or territory, US state (including DC), or the equivalent in otherby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
I wouldn't have known what I was missing if it wasn't for the different checker. Thank you. I like it much better. Not only does it sort the events by terrain level, I like that the GCcodes are links to the actual events as well. I only tested it until I maxxed out my 10 daily checker runs limit but everything appears to be working as expected. Please close this request. Thank you.by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
The local reviewers had similar concerns as well when I submitted this challenge for their pre-approval. But I convinced them that it's very possible for (at least) local cachers to complete this challenge with just regular events, given our proximity to the mountains and access to the river. There are various high-terrain events held throughout the year here; in fact, there's alreadyby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Hi there, I was wondering if I could request a checker that requires cachers to have attended events with all 9 different terrain levels. The difficulty level is irrelevant. And only regular events can be used for this challenge (ie. no CCEs, CITOs, Megas, Gigas, HQ Block Parties, HQ Celebrations, GPS Mazes, and any other event types I've missed). I think that's it. Oh, ok. No worries then. It just seems strange they are different but it's not that big of an issue. I'm happy the checker works and the output is accurate and correct. Please close this request as completed. Thank you for all your help again.by sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
That didn't seem to fix the issue. Here's a sample of the two outputs that I'm seeing: This is what the example log looks like from someone who has completed the challenge GCcode - type / Region / Size / Difficulty / Terrain / Cache name GC10VMY - Earthcache / New York / Other / 1.0 / 3.0 / Eternal Flame Falls Earthcache vs someone who fails to qualify GCcode type Regionby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
Great catch on excluding Locationless caches. Thank you. I never would have thought to exclude them but it makes sense. :-) I've ran the checker against some more people now. Is there a reason why the output looks different between a "completed" vs "failed" checker run? Hi there, thanks for all the work you've done. I've done some preliminary testing and I think I'm going to use the no countries restrictions checker https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GCA1Z7P/72784. Please remove the other checker. I figure the no countries restriction allows all cachers a greater chance to complete this challenge, especially the non-North American cachers. If I do states and provinces only then, does that mean all states and provinces (and their equivalents) in all countries or can it be restricted to just Canada and US (including Canadian territories and US DC)? Hi there, I was wondering if the checker for this challenge GCA1ETE could be cloned and one of its tags modified (hopefully I'm using the correct terms here). Hi there - I just published a new challenge last night. The checker https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC9VW4D/70496 is timing out for just one particular cacher (so far). The timer counts all the way down to zero and then crashes with no real error data. Queueing for slot, paying members are prioritized. Current position in queue: 0 Running checker, this might take up to 60 seconds. Coby sapien - ARCHIVE Checker requests (completed)
